I think a possible back up SG could be Von Wafer. Here are a few reasons for all the haters out there because I know there will be some after this post goes up.
Von Wafer - (1). Last year he avg. around 10 Pt's a game. (2). Last year he shot 39% from three point land which is a pretty good % in the NBA, and he was the best three point shooter on the Rockets. (3). Last year he avg around 44% to 45% from the field. (4) He is 6'5" and 210 lbs so he is a tall guard and could play SG and back up PG if needed. (5). Last year he made under $800,000.00 so he should come cheep. (6) He is a unrestricted free agent and the Clipperswould not have to worry about the Rockets matching any offer he got unless his worthless agent started playing stupid games. (7) He is very fast and can drive to the basket will little effort. In conclusion he is a young player who brought his avg's up from years prior, he wants a large contract so he plays hard, he comes cheep which will save cap room for next year, he is a tall and fast guard who can play two positions, which coach Mike Dunleavy seems to want, he can space the floor with his three point shooting, and he will have plenty of open looks due to Blake, Baron, Gordon, and Thorton. I thought that sounded better than using all of their last names. Like I said before he should come cheep and if he doesn't do anything the Clippers could waive him and will have plenty of money for another player. Please tell me what you guys think???
Also if the Los Angeles Clippers trade Kaman they should try to obtain a quality SF to start in front of Thorton or back him up. If they trade for a back-up they could cut their cost as they did on Z-bo and possibly have two mid level exceptions and also sign AI if they wanted to sell more tickets. The Clippers could also offer sessions more money than New York if they really want Sessions. If anything should happen I think they should trade Kamanbefore he gets hurt again as usual. Sometimes you have to cut your losses and this is one of those times. Or they could possibly get Battier and have Houston sign and trade Von Wafer for Kaman and still save cap room for next year. The Rockets may take that trade since they have 5 PF's and no Center.
