Let's face it.  Tomorrow never comes for the Clippers.  When it does, it's not as good as expected.  Many good free agents will leave their teams in 2010 to go to other teams and those teams may not be able to replace them.  This trade gives those teams a chance to get great, long-term value.

The Clips?  They have a chance of making a deep run into the playoffs THIS YEAR if they can get another great player on their roster now.  Baron, Camy and Butler aren't getting younger.  Kaman and probably Gordon and Thornton won't get much better.  Why wait for a possible Greg Oden 2.0 when the Clippers are rolling?
