A Question for the Clips Nation Night Ballers

We're nearing 60 people who want to play ball during our court time at Clips Nation night. I'm thrilled at the interest level, but a little baffled at what we're going to do in an hour of court time.

If we're SUPER organized, we can make 8 teams (currently 7 or 8 players each), and play half court quarterfinals and semifinal matches, and a full court final. That will entail six games (two simultaneous in three time slots) leading up to the final. If we use a 12 minute running clock, we can squeeze it all in with warm up time and transitions.

What does everyone think? Does that seem like a good solution? Any other suggestions?

Next question: if people are coming together, do they want to play together? It doesn't look like there are a ton of ringers on the list, and I'm not too worried about the age factor (in fact, I'm half tempted to put together an over 40 team just to see how we do). So if I see same last names on consecutive entries, or notes like "friend of so-and-so", then I'm going to try to put those people on one team. Maybe that team will stink, maybe they'll win it all, but I figure they'd probably like to play together.

Make sense? Any other ideas?
