Poll: Who should the starters be when the vets return?
With a mix of glee and dread, I'm looking forward to seeing how Vinnie handles this. Reinserting Kaman and Baron as starters would be the most conventional move, and maybe he'll give Gomes the nod as well. But with so many young guys and only a few playmakers, I imagine that VDN will want to take a long, whole-istic look at who his squads are. U23 seems to be blending well, but a partial U23 second unit, minus Gordon and Griffin, might not work out so well. In particular, Aminu and DJ do better alongside strong playmakers, and Bledsoe too seems to benefit from playing with EJ. Meanwhile, is Baron and EJ a workable combo? Might Baron be more valuable teaming up with Aminu? Likewise, is Kaman's preference for set plays more compatible with the second unit? What if we keep U23 largely in tact and let Baron and/or Kaman have their way against the opposition's backups? There's a fair amount to consider here.
