Please Stop Chanting MVP
To whom it may concern:
I have been to quite a few Clip home games this year and although Blake Griffin is one of the top players in the league already and probably the best newcomer since Lebron James the chants of MVP need to cease immediately. A team that is 3-15 can not have an MVP. Clipper fans I implore you to stop the chants as they are stupid and I am sure Blake thinks they need to stop as well.

Talk to Clipper Darrell...
I totally agree with you. I’m annoyed with those chants too. It’s really unnecessary and I think it bothers Blake too.
If anything he should be chanting ROY not MVP. I realy think it does bother Blake. I remember during once (I think it was during summer league) Blake actually told him to stop.

Clipper Darrel is great, but I agree that the chant does seem to bother Blake.

CD does love the attention
but I will give him a pass.
You must admit that sometimes Clipper games can be dead. CD does a great job at trying to get the fans into the game. He has been doing it through the good and bad times, and there have been a lot of really bad times.
Blake Griffin is coming, hide your MBengas
Absolutely
I don’t care what he does, as long as it’s pro-clipper and extremely loud. And I really doubt it bothers Blake… why would it? Clipper Darrell is awesome.

i'm not a fan of the wave either
during a time out fine, but people don’t even stop when we are shooting free throws and it’s safe to say we don’t need more distractions from our free throws. i haven’t been yet this year so maybe it’s cooled down but before not so much.

I never knew Clipper fans could be elitist
Blake Griffin is coming, hide your MBengas
Or that there is a group of Clipper fans!?
If this is true I think it would qualify more as a cult than a group.

so does the meteor fly over every single game?

ROY makes more sense than MVP. Maybe in a couple season it will be more appropriate to chant MVP sometimes but it’s annoying.
but how do you chant that?
R-O-Y
doesn’t have a ring to it
and rookie of the year is a mouthful for a chant
Really he should just chant “Griffin, Griffin, Griffin” but hey I’m not one to start a chant.

MVP chants are stupid, period
Whether they’re for LeBron, Kobe, Howard.
Annoying.
Do not worry. (Matthew 6:27)
Man you guys sound like a bunch of old farts!
As long as your not being abusive or obnoxious and your having fun at the game that’s
what its all about. Usually you get these complaints from senior citizens.
+1000
I was under the impression basketball games were supposed to be fun…

i think the point is that fun is different for everybody, not everyone thinks waves and chanting MVP for a rookie when our team is losing is fun.
Different strokes for different folks, old farts and young farts.

it makes me cringe.
Chant R-O-Y and I’m in.

Nobody cares what you think..
poeple go to the games to have fun.. not to please you.. and just like you’re sure BG doesnt like the chants, Im sure he doesnt mind them..
Blake Griffin: "There's been much more fuel added to my fire... things change when something is taken away from you."
you must not be a season ticket holder
When i bring guests, they love CD and think he’s the best. I’ve even introduced them and they’ve had their pictures taken with him. Nice guy… super attitude.
Season ticket holders dont find him as amusing. Just like i think seeing the clippers spirit 4 times a game is probably one time too many. Over the course of a season… that’s dozens of times too many (and i think they’re hot as hell…so go figure).
When it comes down to it, the entertainment should MOSTLY be gained from watching the game… not the self promoting fans (CD has a commercial and website where he sells CD shirts, etc.)
Those MVP chants are ridiculous. In fact, they are embarrasing. He’s not the MVP, and will never be the MVP for the league this year. So what’s the point?
When you’re down 18 to San Antonio in the 3rd and an MVP chant breaks out, I almost want to pull my hair out. The worst part is seeing the opposing players chuckle on the sideline at the notion.
What's the use of a good young core if they never end up being winners for us?

Untrue. STH since ‘01 and I’m a big Clipper D fan.

i shouldn't have spoke for all fans
i didnt say i didnt like him… in fact he’s toned it down a bit this year… I wish he’d take off the silly suit so that i could take him seriously.
Overall he is a positive part of being at a clipper game.

This is true
casual fans find him entertaining. It gets old for most if you have to see it 40+ times a year though.

I agree on the Clippers spirit
i couldn’t care less about them.

Hmm
I think CD could come up with a 3 letter chant for you too sir!

who says you have to care for them
things can be casual…

honestly if anything, eric gordon has been quietly carrying this team. i hope they chant for him too.
Love CD but hate the MVP chant
I remember I went to a preseason game where BG was making all his FT’s, CD started chanting MVP and BG missed both, coincidence maybe. But I can tell you BG has missed pretty much every time there is an MVP chant. I love the idea of just chanting Blake,Blake,Blake. But anything other then MVP is fine.

well lets just keep the chants realistic...yeah like Blake Blake or ROY ROY
but MVP is ridiculous and it just increases the amount of how much the Clippers are a laughingstock.

whatever happened to not creating distractions when the home team is shooting free throws?
Especially a home team struggling at the free throw line like ourselves? That’s when it really irks me.
Fire Jasen Powell!
that's true...just keep silent until its over.
