Why would Melo be trying to sabotage the Nuggets?
To force a trade?
It seems to me that the better he plays the more interest there would be for other teams to sign him.
The guy is in the final year of his contract. He’s said he doesn’t want to return. He’s under no obligation to return. By telling the Nugs that he isn’t going to sign he’s at least giving them an opportunity to get something for him. Unlike LBJ and the Cavs.

His motivations are of little interest to me
He is likely to be traded to one of about three teams no matter what he does. People throw tantrums for all sorts of reasons.
Understand but you are claiming in the title that he's sabotaging the Nuggs.
And now you’re saying he’s throwing a “tantrum.” So obviously you are characterizing his motivations despite your claim they are of little interest to you.

Because its funny?
Not everyone is a super serial douche all the time.
Good point - just 90% of the time ;-)

Pretty funny coming from you

Interesting Analysis
Three games is a very small sample size though, and there are other explanations for why Anthony is shooting less than just that he’s pouting about not being traded. I don’t expect his 3 point shooting to hold. But if he did suddenly become a +40% three point shooter who takes closer to 20 shots a game rather than 25, then I’d agree that he would be a great addition to just about any team based on production. He’s still a punk who will demand a max contract though, and I look forward to rooting against him as a Knick or a Net.
I on the other hand believe he's a perfect fit on the Clips

Put another way, the analysis interests me because I’d love for the Clippers to get a small forward who would produce like Anthony has over these three games. But with such a small sample size, I doubt that Anthony is that player either. And even if he were, I’d have a hard time rooting for a player who I despise.
