Elton Brand?
I had a curious thought and was wondering what Clips Nation opinion would be. How about a trade of Baron Davis for Elton Brand. I know he is hated here at Clips Nation but he is still a serviceable power forward and he played his best basketball with the Clips. I can see a starting line up of Brand, Kaman, Griffin (small forward) Gordon (point guard) and Butler. Let me know what you think. Be nice as this is my first post of any kind... lol.

Heck no
He would take minutes from Blake and his contract is even worse than Baron’s!
Ew
this is a disgusting trade and why would you want to stick a poor shooter in griffin at sf.
Becuase
He is better than anyone we have playing the position right now and Elton can and Blake are completely different players. Elton has a great midrange jump shot and his defense has always been good. Can you imagine the amount of rebounds this team would have. Also he seems to be the only power forward who can play with Mr. Flippy

I hereby ban you from Clipsnation.
ok…well I can’t because I don’t have the authority.
But if I did…I would.
Nice
Nice reply, did you think of that all by yourself?

Don't take it personally...
We don’t kindly to FElton in these parts…
Plus his knees are like beehives at this point. Good first post though…welcome to The Nation
I HATE YOU
Just kidding, I love you. Brand’s as much on the downside of his career as is Baron (thank goodness that “team up” never worked out for us, huh?)… but Philly is a team in need of a PG right now, as Holiday and Williams just aren’t getting it done for them.
But at the end of the day, I think we’ve done enough of fishing for players from losing teams. Some of these guys just aren’t winners, despite what their stats show. Historically, I’m always throwing out ideas about trading for talented players in bad positions on lottery teams that are in need, but I’m starting to think that this strategy doesn’t work. If we field a team of rejects from these garbage teams, we’re just contributing to the cycle.
Jamal Crawford wasn’t a winner until he joined a winning team. He didn’t make the Knicks or Warriors any better because despite his numbers on those teams, he’s really a 6th man on an Eastern Conference playoff team. Maybe guys like Iggy (who we’d start) are nothing more than 6th men?

Loser?
He was one of the best if not the best player that the Clippers have ever had. He was part of the only winning playoff team in Clipper history. Everyone thought he was a class act while he was here, a hard worker and an all around good guy. I met him after a game one time and actually took the time to sign an autograph and BS with me for a little while. Not too many players in this league would have done that.

FElton is not allowed back on this team!

amazing for us...
which means it wont happen unless Sixers are insane.
How about this ...
Kaman and Butler for Iggy and Hawes? Maybe throw in a future 2nd rounder?
Hey, when you've got the chance to trade one old, broken-down player with receding skills and an albatross of a contract for another, you've gotta take it.
And by “you’ve gotta take it,” I mean, “absolutely not, never in a million years, one of the worst trade ideas I’ve heard in a long time.”
Seriously, this would be a worse move than the Grizz giving Mike Conley 5 years, $40 mil.

Wait did that happen??

What is their deal with giving mediocre players huge contracts??

Rudy has been living up to it this season
Blake Griffin is coming, hide your MBengas
Rudy's not mediocre
He is at least fringe all star talented.
Would you pay fringe-all-stars the max, though?
Fringe All-Star = Kaman, who was a fringe all-star last year. Even Kaman 3.0 doesn’t deserve a max contract…

Lets see.. Kaman 2.0 is 19-10-2 correct? So a Kaman 3.0 might be 25-15-4? I think that’s worthy of a Max… but that’s just me.

hmmmm
Can you be more specific? Why do you think this is such a bad idea? Look at his numbers this year and last. Also, I would do just about anything to get rid of Baron, I can not stand even looking at his sorry arse anymore. The team was so much more fun to watch with EJ and Bledsoe in the game. I hate the way the ball movement stops with Baron in the game.

yes, couple days ago.
It really didn’t make sense at all, but it actually happened.
Nice.
We’d have THREE players in one starting line-up out of position,. EJ is a 2 (at least for now), Blake is a 4, and Elton Brand is not on the end of the bench.

Felton for Kaman
It will be super hard for the Clips to trade Baron, so why not give them Kaman and put Felton at Center. Maybe finally Baron will get his stuff together since he and Felton will play together!
There are plenty of people here who hate Felton, I have more of a disgusted feeling. He was a great player and played well for the Clips, but I didn’t like the way he just left the Clips after saying he would re-sign! Even worst, leaving us with a Baron who only wanted to be here to play with him. Can you call his injury Karma?
Hell no
why trade one problem player for another.

There's a joke here somewhere
about how Baron signed here because of Brand but he left. There’s GOTTA be something. I just don’t know what it is yet.
This dude who posted this post is not a Clipper fan
How about you just move to Philly and root for the 76ers instead?
Worst trade idea ever.

Elton who???
“There can be no such union… and to speak of it is heresy”
if he plays so good with senor flippy , then let's send flippy to the 76er's
elton’s a trader . a sellout . he convinced baron to come to l.a and then left him hi and dry .
sure enough , karma paid elton a visit and he has been sucking/ injured ever since leaving town.
didnt kaman just get married ? last year at this time he was on a tear with that mid range jumper fade – now he looks like he’s a lost puppy. the honeymoon is over chris now get your ass to the gym and play like you are capable of, ya big dummy!
FUCK ELTON BRAND!!
Damn Cleveland gonna hate Lebron forever! LOL
