I'll make this quick:
I know a lot of you guys really don't like Chris Kaman right now and really think he's expendable as Blake Griffin rises. However I would defend Kaman in regards to his performance and value to this team as a whole. Kaman last year was able to do well because he was one the central options in the offense. Today however he's honestly not the central focus anymore. Blake is our focus and Gordon is starting to demand more shots. I'm not saying these aspects are bad, but there are consequence. Kaman is still adjusting to his new role. Aside from the depth/skills that cannot be replaced in a trade, let's remember: DJ is a great player to come in and add intensity..but to put him into a starter's role that increases his playing time 2-3 time may be more than one bargains for. Beyond D.Jordan there wouldn't be much depth at center. On offense teams could start focusing on Blake fully as DJ only dunks basically. Kaman will always be a player we can trust to take 10-15 shots a game. While struggling now he has the ability to add some solid contributions. Simply put, there's a reason other teams want him.
I know small forward is an eyesore for the team in its lack of an obvious starter in that position. Perhaps we're just pampered by the fact we have All-Star level players in the other 4 slots? But as demonstrated against Oklahoma we don't need an "obvious" starter in every position. Perhaps AMA will emerge over the season, but we will never know until we try. His performance has been steady thus far and the option to hand him major playing time like we did for Eric Bledsoe might not be as bad as it could seem.
Things for the Clippers are looking good overall. Don't mess with it.
