ESPN Daily Dime - Clips PG Controversey?
More just rhetoric than anything else. I think if Baron came back in the next game, he would definitely start.
But let's just say Baron misses the next 5 games and Bled continues to improve and does so dramatically. If he starts putting up 18 and 10 the next 5 games, then what?

Then
You probably have Baron start off coming off the bench. You sell this by saying that he’s just getting back from injury, we want to limit his minutes, etc. That probably buys you another 2 or 3 games. If Bledsoe keeps doing it and the team is winning, you have to keep him in. If the team is not winning, you say something where you are going to work Baron in to the starting role, just to change things up to see if the team can get back on track.
Right - the key is winning
If the team wins its share of games while Baron is out, then you can’t possibly bench Bled.
But we’re basing this off of one game so it’s clearly too early. Every rookie is going to have his ups and downs though. So I assume that it will make sense to let Baron start for the time being while giving Bled increased minutes all season.
But if Bled can continue to develop, I’m guessing they’ll shop Baron as an expiring contract next summer. That or convince Baron to take the Sam Cassell-mentor role from the bench. Not sure if his ego is ready for that though.
I believe his last year is 2012-13… so he wouldn’t be shopped as an expiring until the summer of 2012.

Yeah, definitely
Letting Baron ease back into things is the way to go. Looks like he’ll sit for the upcoming road trip, and then try to work his way back afterward. Let’s get it in Denver.
And I agree. Baron is the starting next game if he is healthy. As SP noted in the main article, the guy who probably got replaced is Foye not Baron.
Right - but BD would be on a short leash I suspect

Either short leash or on limited minutes
I would see nothing wrong with a Steve Nash/Goran Dragic-type situation.
Agreed
Which is what I’ve been saying should have been the case since the summer. Foye is no PG, as I’m sure most of us can see by his shot-jacking tendencies when he played.
Watching Bled out there yesterday was a joy. Particularly because we got to watch him grow before our eyes last night. He started the game nervous and tentative, then he started loosening up a little and pushing the pace, and by the end of the game he was throwing lobs, pumping his fists and throwing up 3 fingers when he hit a 3. Loved seeing him smile and enjoy the game.
lol, you only loved Bledsoes performance because you lobbied the most for him before the draft

Haha no question
I admit that I’ve been hoping for good things from him from for a while.
But c’mon, he’s been a breath of fresh air!
Hey I was right there with you
We were definitely the biggest Bledsoe proponents from what I remember. He jumped off the page to me when I watched Kentucky last year, but I don’t think either of us could have predicted a performance like last night. The Clippers season was on life support and he pretty much made it interesting again.
olshey apparently did

a minnie beast
A lot of great things. My two favorite:
-the block on Tony Parker.
-the behind the back attempt to Griffin under the rim.
Four steals in the first game starting!
The biggest suprise were those fresh and clean 3’s he dopped in.
The true “WTH” moments were the tear drop floaters he put in. Are you serious!?! The kids got good touch. And he is smarter than I thought. It was just hidden under the drawn out southern accent (my bad), that’s very encouraging to me. It makes him starter material in my “book”.
Good call you guys.
