Hello my fellow clipper fans. I must say that I am having a fun time watching the clippers again. I am having flash backs of the Darius, Lamar, Corey days of 2000. We have the pieces in place for the future, but we must be smart on how we do it.
i have been hard on Baron and Kaman because of their effort. After looking back we should have knew better. Lets look at Barons track record. He went to UCLA (Got coach Harrick fired) showed flashes of greatness, got hurt (sounds familiar) then watched his team from the bench get ousted by Detroit Univ. Came to the NBA, he bumped heads with numerous coaches (who eventually got fired) showed flashes of greatness (GSW v. Dallas series) and then plays the injured card. As for Kaman, he is NOT a leader! he is a good center, but he cant handle the pressure of being a leader. Look at his best year (With Sam C). Kaman was great when he did not have to worry about carrying the team. I personally think that is why he is playing bad this year.
As we move forward we need to bring in winners to our team. No disrespect to Rasool, Foye, or gomes, but look were they came from. We need to do what the lakers did when they brought in John Sally, Ron Harper, and Brian shaw to mentor Kobe and Shaq. We need vets who no they will be mentors on showing our young guys how to prepare like a champion, play like a champion and conduct themselves like a champion. The same way Sam Cassell did. When we got Sam he had everyone believing they were the best and the team responded to him because E.T. was a proven winner. We don't need vets like Iverson or T Mac.
Secondly, even if we don't make the playoff it is still a successful season for us. We got the young guys experience. We also have to draft right. and bring in the pieces we are missing.
