Been talking to a lot of other season ticket holders.. sounds like its going to take a lot for people to renew after another depressing clipper season. Was wondering what the clippers organization needs to do to keep the faith of the fans?
Trading the second best rebounder (average/total) in the NBA for a point guard, third string PF and $3 million dollars is insulting to you the fan. This deal makes no sense. There is no cap relief. There is no upgrade in talent. If Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw were so good, don't you think we could have just signed them at the end of the season? They're contracts come off at the same time as Camby's. Long term, I would have rather seen Marcus Camby resign at about 3 year / $12 million.
The only positive I see in this scenario... Kim Hughes has emphasized running and Marcus Camby going up and down the court all game will simply not keep up at 35 years of age. Bringing in "uptempo friendly" guys like Steven Blake and Travis Outlaw may play just amazingly enough to keep us out of the lottery hunt and just terrible enough to keep us out of the playoff hunt. Will this open up playing time for Deandre Jordan? Maybe half the NBA inquiring about Deandre Jordan's availability nearing the trade deadline may have turned a light bulb on that he actually maybe talented.
