I just saw a Tweet from @ClipperDarrell: "clipps win ..good game but clipper nation i have good news u will love the new coach of the clipps ..guess who?"

I don't know what this means, but then I saw the above article that says Phil and Kobe could be Clippers next season. I hope to God if Kobe leaves the Lakers it's for the Knicks, that way LeBron is free and clear to take LA (even though he already is). Kobe as a Clip means more wins, but please God, no. He'll impede the development of Gordon and Griffin. Plus, he's an @sshole.

What do you think he means?

He says “guess who”. I think that means he’s not referring to Kim.

Given the context of the game last night...

I would have guessed Larry Brown. But the Vecsey article is certainly interesting.

Either way, it’s hard to imagine DTS paying $10M-$12M for a coach, no matter how much he may have changed.

I don't think the Phil thing is happening.

But George Karl just extended for something like 4 million. Personally, I don’t believe Larry Brown is worth anywhere near that 10-12 million. He’ll be gone in a couple of years, wanderlust or age, and frankly, he’d trade everyone once he gets here. We don’t need more of that.

True

Jackson coming to the Clippers is pretty asinine. If anything he’ll retire and we will all pray that Kobe goes to NYC.

Saw that last night

But there’s no way Darrell knows something and there’s still been nothing even in the form of a rumor from any media outlets. No way Darrell knows something that far in advance.

I think he’s just trying to get fans excited.

Darrell's a dork

but he does know everyone in the organization.

Byron Scott would be my guess.

I’d also throw out Sam Cassell. Cassell was loved by Clippers fans and has stated that his dream was to come back and coach the Clippers. I think he’d also come somewhat cheap since he’s got no experience.

Sam I am!!!

I want either Sammy or bill laimbeer. Both have toughness. And we play soft.

Guess who?

Maybe Clipper Darrell is our new coach!

Lucas and CD on the same bench?

It would be tough to overcome the steady stream of techs for leaving the bench area.

I thought MDSr. yelling "run, run, run!" was bad.

Wouldn't It Make Sense

to let Kim Hughes finish out the season? Why hire a new coach over midway through the season, when we’re obviously out of playoff contention? Anyways if this is true, my guess would be John Lucas or Byron Scott.

KOBE CAN GO PLAY IN CHINA FOR ALL I CARE. I DONT WANT THAT AS*HOLE ON OUR TEAM. I HATE HIM AND HE IS THE LAST PERSON I WANT.

not personally i will add— i don’t know him. i just want us to get better with no bs from laker’s fans

You don't get a coach just yet!

You have to make the coach part of the package for Lebron. You tell lebron who do you
want to coach this team that is available. This makes it more enticing for lebron.

Kobes an a hole?

I guess as a Clipper your supposed to hate the Lakers…the Clippers can’t even hold his jockstrap though…you think a great player like him is going to leave the Lakers for us? lol

by JJClipperfan on Feb 23, 2010 9:53 PM PST reply actions

No on is saying Kobe isn't a good player

I hate Kobe but I will admit he is a really really really good player. But he is definitely an A hole.

could the interim tag

be coming off kim hughes? with dunleavy being paid 5mil hughes would’nt cost much.

by cars50 on Feb 24, 2010 9:29 AM PST reply actions

Doubt it

Hughes being named the full time head coach wouldn’t cause Darrell to tell the Clips fans that they’re going to be happy.

he was pretty quite at the LAC DET game

i almost thought he wasn’t there.

I think the entire game there was only:
1 U-G-L-Y chant
3 Let’s go Clippers, Let’s go chant
and
1 copy dance of Clipper Spirit
