The Price of Freedom
Very often than not we think that freedom will right away translate our hopes, wishes and dreams into reality. On the contrary, freedom demands patience and if not practiced properly would bring about frustration that stiffles the change demanded by having freedom.
The Clipper nation should understand that they have to allow a certain amount of time for their team to adjust. More than ever, the pressure is heavier which lies not only on BD's and coach Kim's shoulders but for the rest of the team as well.
There are "habits" to be broken and replaced , attitudes to be changed and perhaps players to be traded. These all exact stiff wages to pay to reap and enjoy the harvest.
Therefore, let the work begins for those who demanded change, players and fans alike.

Well put
It’s also important to note that firing Dunleavy was just step one of the process that should have started last year. Step 2 should be finding someone new to run basketball operations. Whether that’s a new coach who calls the shots with a GM who takes more of a back seat (like Pop in SA) or a new GM who installs his vision and gets a coach who can implement that vision (like New York did) is up to the team.
Either way, firing Dun was just the beginning. We needed to fire him and now we need to find the right people to replace him.
Of course...
finding the right GM and coach is easier said than done. Otherwise, every team in the league will have done so. There are very few people with the right temperament and background to effectively evaluate talent and build a successful NBA franchise, and like most fields, the great ones already have jobs, even in a down economy. Finding those personnel or convincing them to leave a good organization to come to the Clippers will not be easy. Having an owner with wealth, vision, and the ability to pick out talented personnel and empowering them to do their job is crucial. Unfortunately, Donald Sterling has never been that guy. Maybe we will get lucky. It’s like trying to find someone like Steve Jobs to run your start up. Alot of companies would like to do so. But saying that we need to find a Steve Jobs to run our company and actually finding Steve Jobs and convincing him to come to your company is a different thing altogether.
Actually
DTS was that guy when he hired MDSr – unfortunately, as things turned out, he just hired the wrong guy. I suspect he’s a bit gunshy now since he listened to MDSr’s dumb advice to give him a 5 year extension.
The Clippers are in a better position to attract talent now that MDSr is gone. Which is something I’ve been saying for years.
There are always up and coming GMs in the league. Don’t be afraid.
"[Fans are] not technically a lot of times savvy. They don't understand and they don't weigh issues the way that [I] weigh them."
