We have to take thi
Heat don’t have a PG or a Center that can hang with us.
They didn't?
What is the starting lineup?

Ya. That's stupid
Then again, its not like Outlaw has been setting the world on fire lately.
by Michael White on Mar 10, 2010 4:49 PM PST up reply actions
Outlaw is like 3 for 25 as a Clipper, that's why.
Everything starts out New, Gets Old and Dies or is Destroyed.
And Baron and Blake are excellent shooters?

I sat near Neil Olshey during the summer league
he yelled at Dionte Christmas for not shooting the ball.

Forcing baron to guard Wade is a instant way to lose a game
Put Butler or Outlaw out there
I can't watch the games
I want better position in the draft, iwantiporn them to lose

I can't stand Drew Gooden
Didn’t like him at Kansas, didn’t like on the Bulls, and I don’t like him on the Clippers.

lifeless effort from everyone not named rasual butler (and to a lesser extent deandre jordan)
No defense or presence on the boards. Can’t get over how lousy this miami roster is. Buncha has-been/washed up guys. Course they look great tonight (shocker).
by Joe Wolf's Mullet on Mar 10, 2010 5:16 PM PST via mobile reply actions
jesus christ, kaman

Since Neil is talking
I’ve been confused on this but do we have a second round pick this season?
well he was a soap opera actor
Which gives him great experience for this team, incidentally.

And he coached Artesia HS
Sorry, shameless plug to the Suburban League.
I like what Neil Olshey said:
Q: What’s the biggest challenge for you?
A: Getting the players we have on the court now to want to win. We understand they’re veterans but we want them to win as bad as we in the front office want to.
Paraphrased, of course.
Sounded good to me.
not sure why anyone would

Anyone see the article about
Baron being all pissed because he didn’t start the Magic game? He was moaning to some b-ball blog about it. Olshey backed up Hughes’ decision because BD missed the morning shootaround with stomach pain. Typical BD. Man, I’ve really soured on him.
by The Only Team That Matters on Mar 10, 2010 5:59 PM PST reply actions
eh, non-issue to me
Just sounds like a player whose pride was hurt a little. I applaud hughes for it though. He knows he’s a lame duck but he’s exerting what little power he has when he needs to.

baron can be a slug and everyone always overreacts when he does anything wrong...
…But I like some of the passes he’s making lately. At least he’s still trying to make plays and not just be a jacker.
by Joe Wolf's Mullet on Mar 10, 2010 6:08 PM PST via mobile reply actions
He always responds incrementally to challenges...
For instance, him being more of a ball distributor is only because Blake is a pass-first PG. When there’s criticism about his energy, or his passing, he magically shows that tantalizing talent of his for a game or two. Then…back to form. The initiative and work ethic are what bugs me.
by The Only Team That Matters on Mar 10, 2010 6:11 PM PST up reply actions
well yeah... he's the type that always has to have an angle or needs an edge to perform
Coach always has to be in his ass, some opposing player has to rile him up, etc. Then again I’m pretty sure we knew this going in so it shouldn’t be a surprise now. I guess the hope was he would grow up and bring his a-game every night now that he’s not a punk kid anymore but alas…

Kaman was so damn slow on that rotation
Hustle dammit
its sad how little resistance our bigs offer
Everyone just goes to the rim with ease. Sickening kinda.

Just wait for Blake Griffin
He will send shots flying! REJECTED!!!!!!!
HVYDRT007-"EJ's value is diminishing Game By Game"

It's Oneal he isn't being contested strong
D-Wade got inside and no weak side help from the bigs
Kaman with the hustle speed
He didn’t really need to fould he could have waited for Wade and blocked the shot
Maybe Kaman is fed up and wants to be traded?
Stupid, stupid. And I’m a big Kaman fan.
by The Only Team That Matters on Mar 10, 2010 6:16 PM PST reply actions
The speed there was impressive by Kaman
He had such a good run b Wade he should know to go for the block
butler has the dead crowd stirring
And of course in the midst of a run no one boxes out and let’s the broken down o’neal jam it home. Awful.

That will never happen
Stars get calls, and EJ will never be a star with the players we have out on the floor. I like Sool, EJ, Rhino, DJ, Blake, and Griffin, but the rsy of them can all retire as far as I am concerned.

It's Kaman time
He’s got only 4 points, he’ll get plenty of garbage points in the 4th.
not shooting like that...oy vey what a forgettable game

Statistics lie
Pick up the paper tomorrow and Kaman will show 16 points. Of course, all but 4 points were scored in garbage time.
new era looks alot like the old era
wow new gm was all peppy at start of game, maybe he should watch this….same as usual just diff faces…
clip dan
fuck we suck!!
BD deserves about half of the salary he gets. thank god we will have a whole new team next year
"Within every Clipper fan is a Laker hater."
I'm sorry...
but I’m really starting to think everything starts with Baron. He is such a sub-par leader, and a lazy ass. Plays just like he’s entitled. Everything that’s bad about NBA right now. Mad skills, no drive, no loyalty, no respect for fans or teammates. Ick.
by The Only Team That Matters on Mar 10, 2010 6:38 PM PST up reply actions
What the hell Baron just had two plays where Smith and Kaman F'ed up
It’s frustating when the teammates can’t finish plays
I wouldn't pay baron 6.5 million.
He shouldn’t be making more than Andre Miller. I would love to have him back :-(
HVYDRT007-"EJ's value is diminishing Game By Game"
Thanks for making my day HVYDRT, lmao!
hope so then we have more of a reason to part ways with that bum
"Within every Clipper fan is a Laker hater."
Baron is busting his ass and Kaman is playing like a joke
yet Baron is the problem. baron has been setting guys up all game hell all year yet they can never finish
I don't think so...
It’s a novelty when Baron sets teammates up. I almost always expect him to jack up a shot.
by The Only Team That Matters on Mar 10, 2010 6:42 PM PST up reply actions
uh, no
You make some good points about baron and his sometimesy play when I wanna play attitude but don’t get carried away here. He still makes quality passes and is like #7 or #8 in assists.
by Joe Wolf's Mullet on Mar 10, 2010 6:44 PM PST via mobile up reply actions
Plus Baron is 8th in the league in Steals
come on people
Every time Kaman misses a point blank lay up
It’s off of a pass by Baron. Most good nights Kaman has had is when Baron gets inside and forces the D away from Kaman.
He is supposed to be a "superstar" ,our leader.
dude has 5 points against a medicore team
"Within every Clipper fan is a Laker hater."
Yet Kaman is the All-Star
But he never takes the blame Kaman is a leader on this team as well
what does ADD have to do with anything?
Plus he was misdiagnosed

Ditto about Kaman...
He should be a leader. But I really do hate how he’s been diva-like lately, too. It’s no longer numbskullery with him.
by The Only Team That Matters on Mar 10, 2010 6:47 PM PST up reply actions
Me too...
Let’s look at what I thought was his best game all season – that one where we routed the Lakers. That’s how he should play. He was spectacular, energetic, an assist machine. But how often does that happen? When he doesn’t bring that game face, everyone goes to shit. And yeah if that’s the case, he needs to bring it every game. Even if the rest of his personnel have a responsibility too. It starts with him.
by The Only Team That Matters on Mar 10, 2010 6:50 PM PST up reply actions
He's 8th in the league in assists what the hell more do you want
Tonight was another perfect example of how he would be much higher if the damn players would finish the plays. He has 7 tonight
i really hope we can retain Butler and Outlaw. just those 2
"Within every Clipper fan is a Laker hater."
I would like to see....
Sool, Rhino, and Blake all return.

Well Baron and Gooden sure had good games
They combined 3-17 shooting! They are the two veterans on this team, but they sure as hell aren’t playing like veterans!
HVYDRT007-"EJ's value is diminishing Game By Game"
Thanks for making my day HVYDRT, lmao!
Add Kaman to the mix
In this game only the first three quarters of statistics should count. And, Kaman was 2 for 8, I think, entering the 4th.
Everyone was bad not named Butler or DJ
Baron had a solid game overall Kaman was brutal to watch espcially on the inside D against a sore back O’Neal
Beg to differ.
Baron didn’t have a solid game. Very weak on defense and 2 for 8 from the field.
Killa
How did Baron have a “solid” game overall!?!?
5 points, 6 assits, and 2 rebounds are numbers any point guard in the NBA can put up.
HVYDRT007-"EJ's value is diminishing Game By Game"
Thanks for making my day HVYDRT, lmao!
No one said he was a susperstar
If your not named Lebron or Bryant you aren’’t a superstar anyway. However he didn’t have All-Star night he had a productive passing night and how did our this seaosn All-Star do?
he was setting his teammates up all night
he didn’t shoot well but he didn’t force the issue he hustled on D even when he had to guard Wade
0-5 from 3pt is forcing the issue, lol.
HVYDRT007-"EJ's value is diminishing Game By Game"
Thanks for making my day HVYDRT, lmao!
"setting his teamates up all night"
When I hear that I think of like 15 assists. Like Deron Williams and Derrick Rose did last night. Deron had 28 points and 17 assists. Rose had 25 points and 13 assists. Those are “solid games”!
HVYDRT007-"EJ's value is diminishing Game By Game"
Thanks for making my day HVYDRT, lmao!
I loved the game Sool had
DJ had some bright spots, Blake was hot from 3pt, I have been talking about Blake Griffin for about the last hour.
What do you want me to say when Drew Gooden shoots 1-9, baron davis shoots 3-10, and we have just fired our GM and we are in the middle of a losing streak?
HVYDRT007-"EJ's value is diminishing Game By Game"
Thanks for making my day HVYDRT, lmao!
Those players have teammates that finish plays
How many times did Baron make the pass the guy couldn’t finish
Derrick Rose has guys that can finish?
Who might those players be?
HVYDRT007-"EJ's value is diminishing Game By Game"
Thanks for making my day HVYDRT, lmao!
Pretty sure
Deng, Kirk, and Miller (in this game) can finish.
lol...you couldn't get through a game thread without mentioning rose could you?

Baron had a game last season where he scored like 6 points but dished out 20 assist
so the opportunities are there, but the guys got to finish at the rim, etc
he would be out there taking bad shots and committing ridiculous fouls with the rest of the gang if he was still here
A difference maker, he is not.
by Joe Wolf's Mullet on Mar 10, 2010 6:50 PM PST via mobile up reply actions
screw lebron, we need an enforcer in the middle
So tired of watching everyone saunter in and get to the rim without so much as a tickle from anyone in red. Defense is a pride and effort thing though, and those might have left the building some time ago.

Blake Griffin is not a defensive player
He will get a block here and there but he won’t force players out the paint

at the very least he's very active, which is more than i can say for a lot of these guys
I remember watching him in preseason and thinking “damn, this dude is everywhere”, helping on d, active hands, crashing the boards, etc. He’s probably no rodman or oakley but he can’t hurt.

It would be nice to add a young, talented, rookie that can bring scoring and defense next year.

Check out his shot chart
Sual took 8 shots 1st quarter, 4 2nd, 7 3rd, and 0 shots 4th. Everyone else was wanting to get their looks in the 4th during garbage time.
Sadly, that is true

it's one of those thing where if u complain too much, it diminishes the legitimate complaints
Is he bashworthy? Sure, but at least make it a legitimate criticism. The guy can be in the midst of a solid game but if he misses a layup, people come unglued and are all over him. When he is being a bum, sure, fire away. But some people cry about every imperfect moment. Same with kaman. Bash all you want, just have a legitimate complaint and don’t say silly crap like CUT HIM or TRADE HIM NOWWWWW or HE IS THE WORST PG EVER, etc.

Hmm
What sort of things could cause the players not to care anymore?
This is so difficult to figure out.
Coaches don't matter. - Bill Simmons, The Book of Basketball
free throw disparity?
Only “saw” the ESPN gamecast so don’t know whether this was justified but we lost this game due to a huge free throw disparity. 33-13 if I recall correctly. Wade got more FTs than our whole team (17-13, I believe). We outscored Miami from the three point line, and from 2 as well, and held our own on the boards, but were outscored by 19 from the stripe.
I don’t like to bitch about the officiating (well, I do, but not when I didn’t see the game), but can that be justified?
by benoit benjamin's two left shoes on Mar 10, 2010 8:41 PM PST reply actions
miami took it to the hole with ease...if they didn't score, they were fouled basically
it was a completely reactionary game from the clips and they didn’t take it to the hole with any conviction. i watched the whole sorry game and never felt we were getting robbed or anything. clips just weren’t aggressive enough to put themselves in the position to get calls.
