Clips Nation Night at Staples Center! Saturday, April 10th

Clips_nation_night_medium

If you haven't bought your tickets for the Clippers vs. the Warriors on April 10th yet, what are you waiting for?  In case you missed the announcement before, we're having Clips Nation Night at Staples Center that night, with a reception for all the Citizens of Clips Nation before the game.  The details are below, but there are a few updates that I wanted to tell everyone.

First of all, as of a few minutes ago, there were still four spots left in the 'High Five Tunnel' (for the first 50 ticket purchasers).  So if you want your chance to high five Mardy Collins and Bobby Brown, you need to buy your tickets now

Even if you don't make it in the first 50, there's still going to be great stuff.  The Clippers just informed me of the items they are going to make available for the raffle:

  • Replica Blake Griffin jersey
  • 2 sets of Courtside upgrades to the 4/10 game vs. Golden State
  • Clippers t-shirt
  • Clippers Jersey Bag
  • Blake Griffin figurine

Courtside seats would be COOL!

So be sure to buy your tickets, and let's get as many people there as possible.  Keep reading after the jump for all of the details.

Star-divide

Here's what you need to know.

First things first, buy your tickets.   You can use this link to buy tickets online directly through Ticketmaster - use code 'clippers'.  There are three price levels, all with pretty nice discounts of at least 50%:

  • $35 for loge 100 ends (regularly $75),
  • $34 for the 200 level (regularly $68), and
  • $20 for the Upper Center (regularly $45).

I'll be up high in the 300s - ClipperZoe and ClipperMax like the bird's eye view for some reason.  What's especially nice about doing this as a group purchase is that there are no fees.  That's right - Ticketmaster doesn't get a thing, so that's pretty sweet.

For season ticket holders who want to attend, just email mbaker@clippers.com with your season ticket holder information in order to get access to the event.  Your names will be placed on the list at the check-in table.

On April 10th, everything starts at 5:00 PM.  Show up and check-in at Star Plaza and tell them that you're there for  Clips Nation night.

We have a private reception room reserved prior to the game.  There will be a cash bar, raffles for prizes, and of course a chance meet and chat with your fellow citizens of Clips Nation - face to face like real people.  Ever wonder what a Zhiv looks like?  How does the ClipperWidow put up with Steve?  Does citizen KamanHomie have a multi-colored King Tut goatee as an homage to BSkinnz?  Will the earth's rotatoinal access be affected if citizen jax and citizen John R are in the same room?  There's only one way to find out.

In addition to meeting your fellow citizens, there will be an appearance by members of the Clipper Spirit before the game.  I'm working on other special guests, and will keep you posted as I find out more.  Unfortunately, former Clipper Spirit Taylor sends her regrets - she has other plans that night, but wishes she could be there.

Obviously, it only makes sense for the Clippers to do this for us if they can sell a lot of tickets, so let's try to get as many people there as possible.  The more the merrier.

So go buy those tickets RIGHT NOW and we'll see you on April 10th at Clips Nation Night!

Lurkers welcome...

We had a handful of complete lurkers at the viewing party earlier this season. People who read the site, but who don’t comment and hadn’t ever registered, so they didn’t have handles. But we were still nice to them.

There’s no minimum number of posts required to attend.

Kinda harsh no? I expect that kinda name calling from certain girls (can’t give names due to restraining orders) but not from the leader of Clippers Nation. Very ouch!

just lurkers in general.

I would be very happy to meet a few of my friends on here.

P.S. Steve, next time you organize a viewing party such as the one in Long Beach a few months ago, can you try to make it at a more family-friendly locxation than a sports bar? I understand there are many things you have to consider when planning(monetary rescources, for example), but I cannot attend parties in Sports Bars. Just a post-script-sized heads up.

Noted...

Actually, the place we did the last one was pretty family friendly, and kids would have been perfectly fine. We had our own area. Bestclipfan was there, and he’s not much older than you. Of course, aren’t you out in Valencia or something? So Long Beach wasn’t gonna fly for you regardless. But we have a few underage citizens, plus I like to bring ClipperMax and ClipperZoe when possible, so family friendly is definitely a consideration.

Sweet Deal

MarekTheBrave will be there. I love me some Stephon Curry. Funny story I think I’ve mentioned here on on Clips Nation: When I was a ballboy for the Clippers in 1999-2000 (8th grade), I tripped his dad (Del Curry, awesome shooter as well) during a home game with my ball boy mop. He cussed me out. One of the low points of my ball boy career.

Can we bring girlfriends who like the Lakers?

Sweeet!

I’m making the journey from New Zealand to LA for the first time next month and have attending a Clippers game on the top of my list of things to do, so this is perfect ………and, to be honest, I’ve never actually seen a Clippers game (Due to 3rd world internet access and no TV time for them here) ………. I can only follow through box scores and clipsnation pretty much, so watching them for the first time in Staples Center and meeting fellow citizens sounds like a pretty damn good night.

It's not $100 each

I was having the same problem when trying to buy. Tops it should be $36 each. Sign out of ticket master and try again

by Michael White on Mar 11, 2010 12:30 PM PST up reply actions

I did like 5 times

Originally it was the seats behind the basket for $35 or $36, but i didn’t buy right away. Then yesterday when I tried, it changed to the seats next to the ones behind the basket for $100. Definitely better seats. But more expensive. They just said it’s because they sold out their allotment in the loge. I’ll like the $100 seats, but I wish they were a little cheaper, maybe $60 or $70.

This might piss off some fans

But I kinda want the Clippers to lose to improve our chances in the draft. I want Turner BAD! If not, atleast Aminu or Wesley. I’m all about the future. I don’t want them to sign someone and compete for the 8th seed in the playoffs. I want another future star and then to sign someone so that this team can contend for a championship in a couple of years. All my friends are Laker fans and I’m tired of getting ragged on!

by MannyA on Mar 11, 2010 1:45 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

The problem is that

we are so far ahead of those below us that there may not be enough games for us to lose to get better draft position.

LeBron or Bust !!!!

by bestclipfan on Mar 11, 2010 1:47 PM PST up reply actions

We r only 3 games up on the 5th worst record

And we are 3.5 games up on the 4th worst record. It doesn’t guarantee us Wall or Turner but increases our chances in the draft. We have a pretty tough schedule remaining, so I think it’s possible. The only problem is thAt the other teams keep losing too.

by MannyA on Mar 11, 2010 2:27 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

Unless the Clips get first or second pick

they will trade the pick. Not getting Aminu or Welsey.

by Michael White on Mar 11, 2010 1:48 PM PST up reply actions

Neil said we have a second round pick this year

would the combined removal of DJ and the second round for money be able to save us enough money to keep our pick if is the first or second pick (although I would think that if we got Wall then we would just end up trading Baron).

LeBron or Bust !!!!

by bestclipfan on Mar 11, 2010 1:54 PM PST up reply actions

I don’t believe so. First of all, I don’t think there are cap holds for 2nd round picks anyway, so that’s no help. And DJ’s option is cheaper than a 1-8 pick….

I’ll get it fixed…like I said, we just need to get more tickets approved for that night. Maybe you’ll win the courtside upgrade though!

He's working on that...

They just need to get more seats released at the lower price.

Do I have to buy from that link to attend CLIPS NATION NIGHT?

Nope

Just email mbaker@clippers.com I think to add on the list. At least thats what season ticket holders had to do, don’t see why it wouldn’t be the same.

I did that for my two STH seats but they are going to be 4 of us.

Yet to get a reply from mbaker.

Since you have two season seats just email mbaker@clippers.com with your season ticket holder info. Let him know that you only have two season seats, but there will be four people in your party. You should be good if you emailed him.

No # just my name and he said I was on the list but,

I want 2 100’s seats through the link but they are $100 not $35

Got it. For some reason the ticketmaster part is being annoying at the moment and blocks of two seats are not being put at the discounted price. If you enter in anything more than 2, the discount shows up – so you know we’re not scamming you. I’m working on getting this fixed hopefully so you can get two seats. Hang tight, it may be fixed tomorrow, but the game is in a month. Sorry for the inconvenience.

That also could be why he was asking for you credit card #. He can process the order without going through ticketmaster. We’ll figure it out though.

by besaje on Mar 11, 2010 6:36 PM PST up reply actions

Actually

In order to get into the event, you have to buy tickets through the link or be a season ticket holder.

by besaje on Mar 11, 2010 6:22 PM PST up reply actions

NO!

I just bought a ticket at courtside through STUBHUB just to go to this event. Now I can’t attend? Sucks. I’ll still enjoy the game, but it won’t be the same.

by laknights on Mar 12, 2010 2:20 PM PST up reply actions

I think you should be okay

the Clippers just want sales, if this event spurred you to buy tickets then I think it served its purpose. They make a lot more from a courtside ticket sale than the 100s section sales.

FA in 2010.

by ClipperChuck on Mar 12, 2010 3:37 PM PST up reply actions

Not thru Stubhub, technically

They didn’t technically make money from a sale on StubHub – that ticket was already sold. But we’ll see if we can’t get citizen laknights in the party regardless.

Couple Things

Laknights, send me an email to yarin@usc.edu with some info pertaining to your ticket, name, etc. This is a “group event”, which is why we are able to discount the tickets and make this event possible. So, we really don’t want people going to ticket brokers to get access to the event. But, like I said, send me an email and I should hopefully be able to take care of you.

by besaje on Mar 12, 2010 4:08 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

clarification

If you buy tickets not through the Clippers or have season tickets, you’re not likely to get access to the event. Laknights still email me, as I understand you had already purchased a ticket.

by besaje on Mar 12, 2010 4:13 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

Dude you said it would be fixed days ago and it still charges $100 for 100 Sec.

Now you are saying that STH cant go to the Party either?
When will the link be fixed?

Everything starts out New, Gets Old and Dies or is Destroyed.

by HVYDRT007 on Mar 15, 2010 2:13 PM PDT up reply actions

1) I explained that for some reason the ticketmaster won’t break it up into two available seats. Anything over two seats it shows the discount. If you need two seats email mbaker@clippers.com and he can do it manually for you. I thought you were in contact with him.

2) Nowhere did I say season ticket holders were no longer allowed to go to the party. The issue was that besides the season ticket holder two other people that bought tickets through a third party and wanted to come to the event. Not only did I not say that season ticket holders were not allowed, but I told this person to email me so I could help get their two other people into the event.

Oops

Sorry. Meant to say “don’t have season tickets”. Not only are season ticket holders allowed to come, but I’ve also been told that all season ticket holders will be receiving a special gift the day of the event.

Steve or besaje

I noticed that the loge tickets are available again I already bought the low level
seat cause the loge were $100 at the time, Is it possible to switch my tickets from mid level to loge, I will pay the difference if total is higher.

by MannyA on Mar 11, 2010 6:01 PM PST via mobile reply actions

I will look into it. I’m almost positive I’ll be able to get you loge seats. What will probably have to happen though is you’ll just come the night of the game and we’ll swap out your tickets with loge tickets. Don’t worry though, I should definitely be able to make this happen.

by besaje on Mar 11, 2010 6:15 PM PST up reply actions

Why Aren't the Loge Seats $35?

If you enter in 1 or 2 tickets for the loge section, the tickets come up in section 118 with a $100 price. If you enter in anything more than 2 tickets for the loge, you’ll see the discounted ticket prices. I’m working on hopefully getting this fixed as soon as possible.

How Do I Attend?

I’m not a season ticket holder, but purchased a ticket from another source. How do I get in for the event?

50!

We’ve hit 50 people. Still plenty of other reasons to attend!

What time is the raffle?

Just got word that it’s my nephews birthday party on the 10th! Damn! I’m gonna be late to the event if I even make it at all, but I dint wanna miss the raffle.

by MannyA on Mar 13, 2010 11:41 AM PST via mobile reply actions

We’ll probably do it towards the end, but before people go down for the fan tunnel. Around 6:30 or so…

Hopefully soon. Like I said, anything over 2 tickets work. Just 1 or 2 tickets doesn’t. It’s a game night tonight so people are probably pretty busy, but I’m hoping by the latest at the end of the week.
