OK... Let's be realistic regarding our status with the looming free agency. With the playoffs here and the draft day around the corner, reality begins to set in... IT'S NOT HAPPENING. Lebron James is going to sign a 3 year extension with Cleveland. Dwayne Wade will resign with Miami because they will acquire either Amare Stoudamire or Chris Bosh. The left over of the two will join Joe Johnson in New York and that leaves us with $16 million dollars in one hand and our you know what in the other hand forcing us to sign two mediocre players that we didn't want in the first place. You will not be saved. Salvation will not come in the form of a free agency signing. If a player likes LA that much they'll just buy a house and live here in the summer time just like Joe Johnson already does. Clipper fans need to stop listening to Gary Wright's "Dream Weaver." I believe salvation will come in a different form...
Controlling what you can.
Our biggest need is obviously at the SF position. Most likely, nothing via free agency is going to come our way. What we should do is look towards parlaying our future owed Minnesota pick and this years potential 8th draft pick for Minnesota's potential #2 draft pick in order to obtain Evan Turner. I think he's a game changer that will facilitate our needs at the SF/G position as well as being capable of running some point. Seeing that Minnesota already has the 16th and 23rd pick, they may be open to softening the blow of having to give up the future draft pick.
PG) Baron Davis
SG) Eric gordon
SF) Evan Turner
PF) Blake Griffin
C) Chris Kaman
+$16,000,00 to sign a free agent (miraculously) or two to three solid pieces....
This is solely based on the assumption that we draw the 8th pick and Minnesota gets the 2nd pick.
