Just for fun I thought I'd see who the 8th picks were over the last 10 years. I think it will help us get a better idea of what kind of player we should expect to get (i.e. don't expect to get a major impact player). In the last 10 years, only Rudy Gay and Jamal Crawford have had what you might consider "successful" careers. And Jamal has been quite a journeyman himself. Most have been rotation players jumping from team to team (Frye, Ford), and some have been total busts (Alexander, Araujo).

I'd say this goes to the point that we need to address our hole at SF via trade as we're not very likely to get a starting caliber SF through the draft.
