Basically he just got the short end of the stick when it came to an owner who is desperate to retain/please LBJ (now potentially LBJ can pick the Cleveland GM and coach). With his powers dwindling/non-existent, Ferry wanted out. I know many of you will feel he won't get much any different treatment with the Clippers because Sterling is traditionally a cheap person that makes decision making difficult. However, outside the aspect of money, personnel decision making seems to be typically not too influenced by Sterling and Ferry would potentially mold the team as he envisions. (I could be wrong, but it seemed like MDSr got to do as he envisioned to an extent.)
Hence: Would Ferry be an acceptable candidate for the Clippers?
The list of GM candidates in my mind aren't that long right now...
There's a lot of critics out there of course that Ferry did some bad moves while as GM, but I think he did what was at the given time needed and by consensus of many to be acceptable, if not good moves. Critics typically only get real momentum it seems from hindsight, like questioning the Jamison acquisition when AJ became non-existant in the playoffs (I blame Brown) and is stuck with Cleveland cause of his huge contract. Thoughts?
