Somebody mentioned winning by attrition, sad as that is, I thought that was our best chance. I jumped for joy when UTAH lost Boozer and PHX lost Amar'e only to have my schadenfreude killed almost instantly. I think it's safe to say when UTAH lands Jefferson they're just as good as they were before, and PHX with Hedo and JChill looks to certainly be a playoff team.
Having said that, I had come around to the idea of standing pat with Gomes as the starter, but now I believe The Chief will really need to earn his minutes. With TPEs being so popular now (Jefferson will be acquired through one, as will Hedo), is there any way DET takes one for Tayshaun?
I don't like what I see from Sofo, and after a tweet war with Eric Pincus, I guess Rhino isn't so critical anymore. Gomes can play the 3 and 4. In this case, he backs up both Griffin and Prince, while still allowing Aminu the minutes he needs to develop.
We need a legit SF just to tread water in the West. After seeing so many targets either ignore or refuse us, we'll only get something decent through a trade. Believe Prince makes 11m a year, if we have 10.1 in cap space, isn't a lopside trade still doable?
God, I hope so.
