Big Sofo (Sofoklis Schortsanitis) destroys James Johnson.
I uploaded this vid to youtube as a small tribute to Sofo, for playing the past years for my club here in Greece, Olympiacos.

And that is why we sign this guy
He may not score 20 points in a single game in his career, but he does the little things. He can block shots, and he can get up. JJ is a very athletic small forward for the Bulls. Usually he is the one blocking shots, but not this time! Big Sofo in the house!
When Sofo put JJ in his place, it was like watching a dog put his tail in between his legs.
That has been the highlight of summer league so far. This guy has played tough D in both games ive seen him in. On top of that, he hasnt been called for any dumb fouls that you see Rhino called for.
BLOCK BLOCK
Bluh bluh bluh bluh BLOCK

That is the Edge between Sofo (Greek Shaq) and Rhino,
Rhino can’t get up like that to join the Block Party.

So, your saying smith can't get up & block like that? hmmmm....... ok.....i clearly remember smith blocking shots last year...
Sofo is a big dude and JJ is garbage in my opinion. I think smith would of tryed to foul him instead of blocking it so props to sofo….but if he trys that again against wade, lebron, howard etc… That will be his welcoming party to the nba.

due to sofo's height, he's gonna trouble playing alot of minutes and doing that repeatedly.
Smith is more conditioned to play more time and there’s a reason why they call him RHINO. :)

We gave Rhino a shot and it was OK but Sofo has more upside to me,
Size:
Rhino 6-7
Sofo 6-9
Age:
Rhino 27
Sofo 25
Price: ?
Don’t get me wrong I like Rhino but he is gonna fetch a lot more then LAC can Pay him and until we know Sofo’s number we will see.

i meant weight and i didnt know smith was 6-7 and sofo was 6-9..... i actually didnt remember recalling how tall they were
but yea, all this positive talk about sofo has really made me a believer……Now i just want to see it for myself…….BTW, isnt smith 26?

He definitely got up there - he's intriguing to me

I'm still a Rhino guy
the Clippers already have a guy that can defend and rebound off the bench.
Right now the Clippers have NO scoring off the bench.
Sofo is not known for his blocks in Greece
He’s mostly an unstoppable offensive force when posting up correctly. And by “correctly” I mean that he often posts up too far from the basket and the possession ends up in a turnover or an offensive foul. When there’s a good PG that can give him the ball in the right place and time, he can destroy any big man when posting up, because of his size and strength. He’s also very effective in the classic pick and roll.
Other than that he cannot shoot, from anywhere on the floor and if the game is uptempo, it’s best for him to sit on the bench. His conditioning has always been a problem but fortunately the NBA is the best place from someone to work out and get in shape. He’s immature and that’s a fact, but he has come a long way and he is much more controllable now. He doesn’t have anger management issues (thank God) but he could easily give up on everything if disappointed and start eating everything he sees. You can’t imagine how many legends/jokes exist here about Sofoklis entering restaurants, throwing all customers out and devouring everything.
I’ve been watching him for so many years here… being as objective as I can, I’d say that Sofoklis has a fair chance of becoming an effective force of the bench for maybe 10-15 minutes at best, if the coach uses him in the right way. Because of his tremendous size and Hulk-like strength his game is one-sided. Del Negro has to understand that and get the best out of him, otherwise all you’ll have is a big (huge) kid complaining and waiting for the summer to get back home.
His potential is huge, or at least.. it used to be . Let’s hope he still has it. I wish him all the best. And about you guys, I’m so glad you are finally cured of the Dunleavy disease. I hope you get back on track soon and kick some laker butt.
WOW! is that.......positive vibe i sense?????!!!!! i havent felt that around here in quite awhile.......
Cheers my man!
