First off thinking that we were going to get LBJ funny we cleared all that cap room last season and we have no body? We treaded Al Thornton away, that I think would have been a great pieces for this year’s team and more players that where good but could not play under mike dunleavy style of play. I think we have a problem with are point guard baron Davies? cents he came to the clippers he has not shown the front office, the fans and clippers nation that he wants to play to his potential that he did with the warriors I think he is more worried about promoting his brand then getting his team to the play offs can someone look in to it cause I did and that’s my final word on him. Now let’s discuss the summer so far why didn’t we go after Josh Childress phoenix suns gave a future draft pick, and some extra to get him? we need an Small forward that can play some good ball for us now getting Ryan Gomes it’s ok but not as good if we would have bring Josh Childress to LA So we loss on that one now there is Josh Howard and Richard Jefferson still waiting on contracts They each have playoff experience why are we not go after one of them bring back Rasual, Butler and we will be ok on the small forward position I’ve have been told that we are interested in Tracy McGrady. Now McGrady in his own words said that he wants to play with LBJ so I don’t think we will be seeing T-Mac in a Clipper uniform. That’s all I HAVE FOR RIGHT NOW LETS SEE WHAT CLIPPERS NATSION THINKS ABOUT THIS

Periods and to understand the spelling of similar sound, different words...
“are/ our” “cent/ since” “treaded/ traded”
The best thing you could have done was spell Baron Davis’s name right. It’s really not a hard word. And playoff is one word.
Okay I stop.. just saying..
Anyways to really hear my imput, Baron Davis is promoting is brand? If you were to promote your brand, would you have had come to the Clippers? Don’t get me wrong, great area, but probably wrong team. He hasn’t played to par, and my belief still is that had he signed somewhere else with a different head coach, he would have done far better. Why do I believe this? Because before signing with the Clippers, he had a great season. Right after, he played horribly. But even so, what Brand is he promoting? Ibeatyou.com? I doubt it. He already has stars doing it for him such as Jessica Alba and etc. to do that.
Second, TMAC was already openly stating that he’s been wanting to play with Lebron. I actually heard about TMAC wanting to play with Lebron in Miami BEFORE hearing about Clippers having interest. But because Heats haven’t shown too much interest (and contract issues) means that Tmac MIGHT turn and look elsewhere. So whether you see Tmac signing here or not is like some blind sourcer attempting to predict the future telling me 2012 is “that year.”
T-Mac
didn’t Oshley say something like “if T-Mac wants to work out for your team for a plane ticket/dinner…u do it”
so that means he has an interest in our team then right?
I assume so.
Why’d you change your picture KidJustin? I was so used to looking at Sam Cassel and I think I’ve seen someone else with the same avatar.
I had LBJ in a clipper uni for a while
but after the decision i decided against it.
Then I was debating over the big balls or baron…im trying out booms beard for now
Anyways, I just changed it again
This one has a little be of a positive look if in fact the Clippers somehow sign Ammo
By the way it would be...
Baron Davis’ name, not Baron Davis’s name. Davis’s would mean multiple Davis’s and there is only one.

+1 (you saw that too)
Also, why do people always use THEN instead of THAN when making comparisons in a sentence?
Sorry prototype, but it’s hard to read this and look past the grammatical errors while trying to consider your views.

I have to disagree.
i’m a student right now.
and, i have always simply added an apostrophe to the end of any word that ends with a syllant (‘s’ type of sound) to make that word possesive.
but, this last semester, three different English professors told me that academia is leaning towards the apostrophe followed by an “s,” always.
"Energizing the process, or turning it upside-down, fans now participate, writing blogs and posting comments and videos [...] the dialogue is to discourse what road rage is to driving." -Mark Heisler
So how would one (professor) differentiate a plural possessive and a singular possessive?
I am not trying to argue—- just curious. I am Chris. Chris’ statement is true. If Chris has a cousin who also makes a true statement, both Chris’s have made true statements. That is my understanding. However, I guess it really does not matter. The way you be sayin it might be the most bestest way to say it i think maybe? :) Go CLIPS!
Sorry, Chris, but it's the opposite
I’ve been a magazine editor for two decades, and this is one of my biggest pet peeves. Anything singular that ends in “s” should be followed by an apostrophe-s, just like the possessive of any other singular word: “That is Bill’s ball” and “That is Chris’s ball” should be treated the same. An apostrophe after the “s” hanging out by itself, meanwhile, indicates a plural possessive: “That is the Clippers’ ball.” And as for your plural Chris question, it’s not an apostrophe that makes it plural; it’s adding “es,” just like any other word. So in your example (which has no possessive) it would be “both Chrises have made true statments.” If there was a possessive involved, then you’d use the plural possessive form: “That is the Chrises’ ball.”

Strunk & White disagree

Sorry, I just can’t help it. I’m white.

White people love rules. It explains why so they get upset when people cut in line, why they tip so religiously and why they become lawyers. But without a doubt, the rule system that white people love the most is grammar. It is in their blood not only to use perfect grammar but also to spend significant portions of time pointing out the errors of others.
Ah, yes, it would be Davis's. Thanks white people!

I see 3 question marks, and none of them are really questions
…but since you’re a prototype I will look past that (though I’m anctious to see the improvements in prototype 8 ).
You touch on a few points, I want to reply to:
*Al Thornton. I doubt the Clippers will miss him. He was everything the Clippers didn’t (and don’t) need. He played smaller than his size, didn’t shoot well, didn’t create for others and wasn’t a good defender. I expect Gomes and AFA to be better (or more motivated) defenders, and Gomes to be a better shooter.
*Chilldress. Phoenix got him in a SAT because he wanted to play for the Suns. The reason he was traded to them was because they had a TPE (traded player exeption) and to give the Hawks an incentive not to match (actually they couldn’t match, since technically the Hawks signed him themselves).
50/50 on Al Thornton
we created cap space for a max free agent and we struck out looking. Of course you can’t swing for the fences if you don’t swing, but typically our only ideal FA after Lebron we were aiming for was JJ, which we would have vastly overpaided, as Atlanta has done. So in a way, I kind of do miss Thornton for the price we were paying him. He would have made a more valuable trade asset than what we got for him. A one year stint with Drew Gooden wasn’t my ideal trade atleast. Does it mean we had alot of trade options for Thornton? No, but with time, his value could have potentially increased.
I wish we got something for Thorton, but I don't miss him.
He was a ballstopper in the worst way. Horrible shot selection (his go-to move of dribbling away the shot clock then pulling up for an off-balance 19-foot BRICK), poor rebounding for a guy of his size and athleticism, no passing to speak of. Good riddance.

I HAVE A QUESTION THEN!
On the left on the homepage, what is the “Clippers confidence poll?”
Might as well throw questions around just because this seems like a fanpost to ask questions…
WE NEED ANSWERS!!
The starting point seems to have changed
After the first votes were in it started off low, probably around 40% and was heading up slightly, but as of today it seems to start around 75% and heads down.
I really like the idea, wish it had more info.

it's tough to have answers when
teams like Heat and Lakers are signing all these players (Miller, Haslem, Z, Artest and Fisher at LA, and even LBJ, Bosh, Wade) at such bargain prices or unfair trades (Pau!) that it feels like there’s monopoly in each conferece.
They pay cheap for quality players while we pay premium for shit players. It’s just unfair. I feel even worse for the Nets.
NBA should enforce anti-trust-like crackdown on teams like the Heat and Lakers
how the &* do we ever compete with teams like this in the league? Or like in the MLB, teams that lose good players (Class A, B, and etc.) in the FA should be compensated by draft picks from the team that signs their FAs. For example, Cleveland should get future 1st round draft pick from Miami for losing LeBron. Clippers should receive 1st or 2nd round pick from Philadelphia for losing EB few years ago. I think this keeps the bottom-tier teams more competitive who constantly loses all their best players to FA.
I feel even worse for the nets
Angels 2009 WS Champs
if the lower teams were able to make prudent moves and show they know what they were doing, maybe guys would want to play there. Don’t pay the guys you know aren’t going to be able to do anything.
The worse teams are their own worst enemy by paying these bad players (ex: Travis Outlaw) That way u guys have the money to pay the 2nd tier players good money and build from that and through the draft. Look at the Cavs, they drafted well, and are now a power. Look at the Thunder, they drafted well and can make a splash. Look at the Spurs, Bulls, and MAvs. All these teams ownership knows what they are doing.
But when you sign an aging Baron Davis, trade Camby for nothing, draft Olowakandi, etc off course people arent gonna wanna go to your team.
Don’t you think Lebron and Bosh all wanted to make the championship push as their own leaders. But they just don’t have enough confidence in their franchises that they can do what it takes to win.
In Kobe we trust!
i agree with you to some extent. but the way that the NBA works right now is – the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer for the most part.
and teams like Cavs, Thunder, and maybe Spurs are exceptions. you don’t need a lot of prudence to draft guys like LBJ, KD, and TD other than the top lottery picks. i give credit to teams such as Spurs, Bulls, and Mavs who are respectable teams thanks to their good management like you said.
i wish we could turn it around like other teams but we have some inherent issues with the organization (by being the Clippers) that puts us at a disadvantage:
1 – even if we have enough money, good players would rather take that money (or less) to go play some place else => disadvantage in FA for super star players
2 – even if we develop stars through the draft or trade, good players are likely to leave for another team once they become FA (i.e. EB few years ago and LBJ at Cleveland) => disadvantage for player development
Angels 2009 WS Champs
you have a point, I agree its much harder for smaller teams to become successful. And yes, it does seem like the rich get richer, but at the same time you do see teams still able to recover without the star power, or top 3 picks in the draft.
The Bucks and Hawks all did very well doing this, sure they have/will prob have to shell out more more to keep their players, they still can be competitive.
The Kings also look like they are well on their way into buidling something new. IMO, the clippers should just trade B. Davis, even if they get zero in return for him. They aren’t going to win with him in their lineup at this point in his career. Teams that have commited to the youth movement figure out what they have much quicker when they dont have the looming question of a talented, but often injured veteran “star” player.
As for retaining the youth, I think most players feel most comfortable in the organization they get drafted to, its very important that teams utilize their ability to extend contracts of players who are on the verge of star status.
Not saying its easy at all, but the Clippers shouldn’t have a excuses given LA is still LA even if u have to live in Kobe Bryant’s shadow. I would way rather play for any LA team before I move to Minnesota, Utah, Portland, etc
In Kobe we trust!
I strongly disagree! Baron Davies is the Best!

Just think that with AT we would not have a hole at the 3 and with Camby we could run Camby at the 4 and BGriff at the 3.

al thornton IS a hole at small foward.
and Blake Griffin is a power foward. it’s that simple.
during this entire offseason, we’ve been talking about grabbing a SF who can strecth the floor… and then you suggest Blake Griffin…
