RUDY FERNANDEZ
Should the Clips make an effort to trade for him? Rudy can play the 3 (a position we need) and is a great shooter and ball handler. Unfortunately, with the spate of new signings, we don't have many contracts on the books that we can trade. The only trade that makes any sense and that is successful on the ESPN trade machine would be a Deandre Jordan for Rudy trade. I'm sure we could throw in a draft pick. Would you pull the trigger on that deal? I personally would as I don't see Deandre developing into anything more than a bench player while we haven't seen what Rudy can do in a full time starting role. We are of course assuming Rudy gets desperate and says I will go anywhere.

i want rudy 2……but i think their willing to take a first round pick in exchange….no need to include dj……………………..im all up for a rudy fernandez for our minny pick trade
DJ
We have not seen DJ w/ Blake Griffin which could be an superb combo. Plus DJ is developing nicely. He is really raw still.
I say give DJ until this season's trade deadline
How patient must one be? DJ has had PLENTY of time to figure things out. He should be cooked into a tender fillet sometime before the new year.

As Clipper Steve pointed out previously...
Rudy’s a 25-year-old European, and he’s not very big. I don’t think his ceiling is much higher than where it’s currently at. Though he never got proper minutes in Portland, so he’s worth a look for sure. (Not the Minny pick though)
He's from Spain, xenophobe much?
He’s a good player, can play 3 positions, can create his own shot, has killer dunks, good handles, can shoot the 3. The guy is listed at 6’6" what type of “Big” do you want? He clearly towers over the clips diminutive back court. Sure he’s probably skinny compared to Big Sofo, but who isn’t?
I guess you have a problem that he’s from Europe. In the NBA, it doesn’t matter what you look like, if you can ball, you are in.
The Blazers are a half court team…I think his skills would be better utilized in a more full-court offense.
This is going to be my team, and we're going to rise together.

The problem is his
6’6 170 frame. We said Sual wasn’t strong enough to play the SF, but comon now, Rudy at 3 for extended period of times looks worse than Sual. He has an idea (and perfect size) for SG, but if he’s complaining in Portland, he’s probably bound to complain in Los Angeles. He’s still playing behind Gordon keep in mind, and I don’t like the idea of him playing the 3 at all.
I feel like having him AND Rasual is kind of redundant
But I wouldn’t mind having him. It would make for some nice competion for our wings. Assuming AFA is playing the 4 he shouldn’t take away more minutes from him. We would have a pretty deep team too to help make up for having a weaker starting line up. Not sure how many wins he would add seeing as we still would not have a real starting 3.
Agree, this ship has sailed
Rudy would be a definite upgrade over Sual. But since the team has already signed Sual, no way they will pursue Rudy as well. That would effectively leave Sual with no role. Add Rudy to the list of “Coulda, shoulda, but didn’t.”
i was not impressed by rudy in the playoffs last year
