Steve Novak

When I saw the two thugs join Dwane Wade's team I though for sure Steve Novak would be the perfect fit in Miami and I was actually hoping they would sign him.  If he was on that team he would lead the league in 3 point shoot field goal percentages.  I always loved him on the Clips but too bad he could not guard anyone.  One thing I did agree w/ Dumbleavey is that he is a huge defensive liability.   However, in Miami the other defenders would make up for his liability.

They have added some 3 point shooters (House, Jones & Miller) to the roster, but a big concern was their interior defense. I feel that is more of a weakness than perimeter shooting at this point. Novak is a great shooter, but would be a serious defensive liability on the floor for them. Miami has been a very good defensive team despite being very small. Anthony, who is their starting center, is only 6’9. Bosh is going to have to seriously step up on that side of the ball. Haslem is a good defender, but once again he’s another smaller player. They should not have problems against most teams, but there are going to be a handful of guys that can give them some headaches. With Bosh and LeBron both being front court players, there’s going to be less of a need to add a guy to spread the floor there. It would be better to add that to the backcourt, where only large minutes are guaranteed to Wade.

I would love to see Novak end up on a team somewhere. I’d much rather have him than Cook.

Have no fear

Big Z is near the end, but is still OK, and they have Jamaal Magloire and Juwan Howard as well to clog the middle. Not of these Centers are “young and athletic”, but all are Vets who should be capable of controlling the glass.

I"m excited for this team to dethrone the Lakers.

This is going to be my team, and we're going to rise together.

Big Z

He may look lethargic, and in fact he may actually be asleep 50% of the time he’s in the game, but when he’s awake, he’s a total thug.

?

The only reason I don’t want him on Miami, is cause I really want to hate them and I like Novak. I always have a hard time rooting for one guy on a team, when I hate the rest of the guys, and the franchise in general. Like when QRoss played for the Mavs.

I would be happy for him to be on (what looks to be) a good team. Maybe he’d be on DWade’s radar. I remember Novak saying Dwade was the best player he’s ever played with, so I’m sure he’d be down for a reunion.
