IF true, truly dissapointment for Clips Nation

Ryan Gomes and Randy Foye…great way to start out Free Agency.

This is going to be my team, and we're going to rise together.

yes this is a sad day in the nation

First we get a coach (it seems the majority of the nation wanted casey)we didnt want now we have gotten players we really didnt want. The players the nation wanted they have not gotten. I understand you cant always get what you want. But hell i would have taken beasley now i just hope we try to get TMAC or somebody with playoff experience.

Somebody do the math for me

Miami had to get rid of Beasley to make things work. How can they then afford Miller, who’s evidently more expensive? Did somebody agree to take less money?

Miami still doesn’t have a center.

I can play center on that team

and they would still make it to the finals next year! Unbelievable starting four!!! Lebron screwed us big time (and all the other sucker teams that held off making moves thinking they might land him). I guess we continue to “build” for another decade.

hahahah

Yes, at some point, “build” must become produce.

This is going to be my team, and we're going to rise together.

Good thank you Miami and The Sell Outs

They traded Beasley for pure cap space and future 1st round pick swap.

Then Wade, LeBron & Bosh all took a pay cut of 800K-1M or something like that.

Rumors are that Shaq is trying to hop aboard. I wouldn’t be surprised if McGrady tried to get in on it as well.

AAAAARGGGHHH!!!!

I have to admit. I think this Miami heat thing is hurting basketball. Its douchebaggery, plain and simple.
oooooooh! i wonder who is going to win this year?

post-script

I’m not saying its unfair.. they had the money and those players wanted to sign.. it just sucks. I don’t want to watch 5 seasons of 29 teams competing for 2nd place.

Eh

Miami still got a lot of work to do. The Lakers, Celtics and Magic are still very good teams. The Thunder might move into the discussion soon too.

Yep

The Texas teams can use that to their advantage too. California has a hefty one of 10.3% if you make over a million dollars (which most players do).

damn

really wanted miller on this team

by shap on Jul 8, 2010 11:48 PM PDT reply actions

things fall apart...

who is the leader of this team…all i see is bad news for lbj in this move… they’re damned if they’re bounced from playoffs, they’re damned if they win it all….

also, I think the owners will have something to say about the whole players colluding and teams not being able to do so in the next talks…

Pat Riley is the leader of the team and the players have bought in

boston is still the team to beat in the east

their defense is just too good to shrug off

Even the Clippers, those longtime losers, thought they could be a player this summer.

You guys are crazy.

This team is a wrecking crew, it’s going to be a cakewalk to the finals, probably for the next
5-7 years.

I've got nothing.

by bc56274 on Jul 9, 2010 12:41 AM PDT up reply actions

I wouldn't say so

they still need to put the rest of the team together, and they still have no center.

LeBron or Bust !!!!

Minnesota has to eventually run out of first round picks right? right??

by shay on Jul 9, 2010 2:56 AM PDT reply actions

I believe

they got Beasley for a 2011 second round pick, and the Heat / T’Wolves are going to swap first rounders sometime in the future.

Well after Beasley's career is over

Minnesota hasn’t learned much since they gave us their pick in the Cassell/Jaric trade. I’m sure they don’t think they will be terrible forever, but who knows?

by ClipCat on Jul 9, 2010 9:17 AM PDT up reply actions

Lakers still have advantage upfront

I question whether Miami will be big enough and tough enough to win it all. I’ve always considered Bosh soft and whether he can step forward in the playoffs is an open question. The pressure on Bosh and LBJ will be immense. They’re now expected to cruise and if they don’t watch out. The Lakers and other teams with 2 bigs will beat them up under the boards and Artest will have fun guarding LeBron, Wade or whoever. There are a number of experts who questioned how well LBJ and DWade would play together. Next season we will find out. Now I have two teams, one per conference, to root against. I hope like hell that we don’t have a Lakers-Heat finals next year.
