Andy Roeser... Stand Up Guy!

I was shocked!!!

Star-divide

I sent Andy Roeser an email a few weeks back blasting him and the team for all the litigation squabbles that seem to keep popping up.  It was more of venting on my part, never did I think he would return the message.  Well, believe it or not, he actually called me at my office today and wanted to discuss anything I brought up.  I asked if Sterling was the scumbag the media makes him out to be, and he said he gets a bad rap in the press but is not really a bad guy.  We talked for 10-15 minutes and I thanked him for his call.  He says they are talking to Denver about Melo, but of course, they want Griffin and/or Gordon.

All in all, my opinion has changed, he IS a good guy.  He could have clicked "DELETE" on his email, but he chose to call and discuss the topic, pretty cool!

I think it's great he returned your call...

and I’ve heard from a few other Clipper fans I know across the internet that Roeser is pretty stand up in terms of returning their messages. However, in my opinion, it doesn’t change that he’s played a part in this franchise’s futility.

I was getting hassled about my tickets or something at Staples last season.

Forgot what the issue was, but security wasn’t letting me and my brother through. Andy some piece of arm candy walked right by. My brother and I flagged him down, he introduced himself, gave us his business card, and showed us through.

Very classy guy, personally.

I’m not saying he’s Executive of the Year, he always looks a little aloof, but he really was a cool guy to us.

Kudos to the Clipper's FO

Now try this with all other FOs in the league and see who responds…

Andy

I posted several weeks ago, that i have had several conversations with Mr. Roeser, if you e-mail him, he will respond to your e-mail and in my case on several occassions,he has asked me to call him, and left his number, and when he wasn’t in and i left my number, he returned my call, the guy will not run from the fans, he will contact you and treat you like he’s known you for years. I’ve had respect for the guy from the first time I wrote a nasty letter to him,and he asked me to call him,so we can discuss my issues. I posted his e-mail address and phone number several weeks ago,and i agree the press and non-Clipper fans look for someone or something to tear down, and they make the Clippers their focal point. I heard John Ireland last week on the radio, and this guy was talking about the Clippers, and for someone to have a radio show,it would appear they would have thier facts straight, and would have done some research, but he spent the entire time bad mouthing the Clippers and players. Blake Griffin is not a real power foward,we’ve never seen him play, he played in one pre-season game last year before he got injured, he’s not big enough to guard real power fowards in the league,he can’t play on the box and take other power fowards down low, and it went on and on,they need to trade for someone who can put folks in the seats, this guy actually said that he doesn’t know how the Clippers survive in L.A. when they are barely drawing 8 thousand fans a night,,as i said they have idiots in this town who make their living bashing the Clippers, but as a Clipper fan, we all know better.

John Ireland...

…is a tool.

He’s a big time bandwagoner, whether it’s pro-winning or anti-losing, he picks the side with the best odds of victory, and he does it in a very, very annoying way. Also, his head is shaped like an anvil, which seems relevant somehow.

Ireland loves to say, " and i hate to say it because i have friends who work for the Clippers".

No, douche. You don’t hate to say negative things about the Clips. He and Mason dedicated an entire hour to the Isaiah Thomas as Clips new GM rumor, a rumor shot down by the FO before they even went on air. My hatred for those two knows no bounds.

John Ireland is an idiot!

He has his head so far up the fakers a$$ that’s why his head is shaped like an anvil.

He Called me twice last year

Last year I wrote a letter to him after the loss to Portland where the Blazers were missing half of the team. He was on vacation, but called me a few days later when he got back. I spent about 10 minutes on the phone with him. He then called me about a month later to see how things were going.

I was very impressed with him taking the time to call me, but was still frustrated with how bad the team looked.

I’d rather him not call and the team just play hard.

well...let's not forget you contacted him first

…he was just being respectful and answering your concerns.

How would you feel if he didn’t respond at all?

Obviously he wants the team to do well as well, but if they aren’t and fans are disgruntled…at least he isn’t running from them.

About four or five years ago the Clippers sold

my season seats out from under me. I called and asked “when do I renew?” and was told, too late, they already sold my seats.

I e-mailed just about the entire organization, from Sterling on down, I was pissed – and I received no response from anyone. No apologies, nothing. I did however get a new rep. who called and tried to get me the best seats possible.

The best seats avail. were about six rows further back – I was never able to move up to where my original seats were.

I have no idea why they are being responsive now. Maybe they feel they need all the fans they can get.

Class act

I’m supries that he actually returns calls from fans. It shows that he cares but more important, it shows that he’s listening to what the fans have to say.

Here we are, lots of people expressing our thoughts on this blog all believing that we know best and then we should be very happy that the people running the franchise wants to listen to what we have to say.

I can’t understand how anybody can turn this into a negative.

Stand-up guy: I agree

I also aired a grievance with him a few years ago and he resolved it completely in my favor. He in fact changed some fo their invoicing practices at my request.

Well he emailed me back within 24Hrs answering a few of the questions I had. I have a new found respect for him (not that I didn’t respect him previously).

I wonder how many other Presidents would email back fans.

Next step – I will call him for a chat !
