CLIPPERS: CLIPPERS ANNOUNCE 2010-11 BROADCAST SCHEDULE
Last season we finally got all 82 regular season games broadcast. This season, it looks like 79 on PRIME TICKET or Fox Sport West and two more on TNT. That's 81. So which game are we not seeing, and why?

Yeah that was what I was wondering
doesn’t make sense to not show one game, I mean if you are going to televise 81 might as well pony up for one more game. Although the 2 preseason games are a plus.

I'm curious myself...
I’ve been some of the other national TV schedules, seeing if there’s a scheduling conflict. I know ABC has exclusivity in time slots where they televise games, and none of ABC’s games this season conflict time-wise with a Clipper game. Possibly, PT/FSW won’t televise one of the Clipper games already scheduled for ESPN (and they have four Clipper games this season).
The Other Game
I think the game we may not be seeing is on December 18th @ Chicago.
The broadcaster of that game is WGN America.
Source: Source: http://www.nba.com/clippers/schedule/
Here is some interesting info on their sports broadcasting via wikipedia:
“WGN America airs all Cubs and White Sox baseball games televised on WGN-TV’s local Chicago feed, as well as a select amount of Bulls basketball games. Due to NBA broadcast rights restrictions, most Bulls games contracted to air on WGN-TV are seen in the Chicago area only; WGN America airs movies and other syndicated programming instead.”
So this would mean that WGN’s broadcast of that game might only be in Chicago (if this were the game that wasn’t to be shown). Still, I don’t know the restriction on why it could not be shown in LA.
The other thing could be that one of the Clippers game lies on a day that has a really important game from some other sport or is simply a day FSW doesn’t typically broadcast basketball. I would have to research more into that.

Prime Ticket/Fox Sports West will televise that game, I’m certain of it. I’m fully aware of WGN’s deal with the Bulls…they use to air every Bulls game they had locally on its national signal until ’97, when the NBA put those restrictions on them. Locally, WGN broadcast 25 Bulls games a year (and produces several more for another independent station), and 15 of them air on its national signal.
does anyone know the locations for the preseason games?
I know there was the one in mexico, but being exiled in orange county for a while, I was hoping they’d be around the honda center.

I have to assume...
From the Clippers’ press release, you can only assume that the 82nd game will not be on national TV either… otherwise, why go to the trouble to point out that two of them will be on TNT?
Based on past experience, I’m going to say it’s at Charlotte. That always seems to be a game they can’t be bothered to broadcast. Whatever game it is, hopefully we’ll at least be able to see it on League Pass (if you pony up for League Pass, that is).

The Charlotte game...
can only be available on League Pass, of course, if the other team’s broadcaster (in this case, Fox Sports Carolinas) is televising it. The Bobcats haven’t released their TV schedule yet.
The mystery is solved...
Friday April 8th @ Dallas, 5:30pm
I would think that if the Clips are still in contention for a playoff spot by then, PT will add the broadcast. Of course, that’s the first Friday of the 2011 MLB season. The Lakers have a road game that night in Portland, which of course would be on KCAL 9, which sticks Prime Ticket with a Dodger telecast that night. I would also assume that FS West would have a Kings/Ducks/Angels game that night as well, even though they could move a Ducks telecast to KDOC, and the Angels to KCOP My13.
if we're in the playoff hunt
espn would probably pick it up…is Seaman and ILo back doing the radio casts on kfwb?

According to NBA.con's national TV schedule page...
The only national telecast that night will be Phoenix at New Orleans (5pm Pacific) on NBA TV. Nothing’s really permanent, but again, if the Clips are still in contention by then, I’m sure that NBA TV will swap-out Suns-Hornets for Clips-Mavs.
Yeah
It would have to be the Dallas broadcast, but that is way better than nothing! We’ll probably be able to find a link for the Dallas broadcast anyway, so we should be good.

How'd you find that out?
Can’t believe they’d just leave ONE friggin game off.
