wow that is a rare

a coach that is actually in shape, Vinny seems to be off to a great start at establishing himself as a player coach. If only he would start giving crazy pre game rants like Rex Ryan the image would be complete.

Not sure we'd want that

It makes for good TV but the Jets look like a bunch of USC frat guys right now.

Yeah but as long as they are winning it won't matter

if course if they lose a couple of more games…

VDN, energy guy

In my experience, it’s a great teaching strategy to get in there and perform alongside your students. We can talk about the players as “professionals” until we turn blue, but the fact is that camaraderie can make a big difference.

Yeah, I remember watching NBA TV training camp covering the Celtics a few seasons back...

I saw Doc Rivers run lines with the team saying there would be a penalty if he beats anyone and then proceeds to count down 3-2-1 but starts running before finishing the count to get a head start on the team…it was pretty funny.

Awesome!

Seems like VDN is trying his best to develop chemistry with his players.. Love it!

+1

I doubt there are very many guys that would do what VDN is doing….

I don't think there are very many coaches that COULD do what VDN is doing

most coaches are way out of shape and probably couldn’t even complete the warm drills.

Probably but he is one of the few

Although of course you don’t to be in shape to be players coach, it is more of a personality thing then anything else.

Coaches who can still play

My guess is Scott Skiles (46), Scott Brooks (45), Byron Scott (49), Doc Rivers (49) and Nate McMillan (46) can still a bit. Maybe Kurt Rambis (52). The Bobcats have a owner that I heard was once pretty good.

I thought it was Gerald Henderson?

Not surprising anyways, MJ is 47 now. I’m sure some college golf players can beat Jack Nicklaus now.

Wait, I don't get it ..

Didn’t Dunleavy hang out and run with the players too?
