Some thoughts on the current state of the Clippers

1. The Clippers are winning consistently now, demonstrating they can get the job done as they are constructed. The talk of trade has pretty much evaporated... As Baron Davis' level of play (and ironically trade value) has risen, the talk of dealing him has died down. Definitely his ability to contribute is through his size and driving (in the lane) ability. When B. Davis can score 20 points while attempting only three 3-pointers, the team is in good shape. He's using his skill set to the maximum now. He might not have the speed, but  the defensive rotations have been decent and he makes up for it on the offensive side. (Bledsoe is probably the opposite at this point; defensively speedy and crisp, but still a bit behind on the offensive side).

2. Blake Griffin injury scare? Back spasms aren't fun, and while it was inspiring to see him dunk after the technical, the Clippers perhaps want to look into letting him heal up. February is going to be an unforgiving month on injuries. Keeping players fresh for that stretch is going to be crucial. That month will define the team's future, whether ability to just truly compete, or maybe even attempt a playoff run (currently 6.5 games out). I would definitely not be opposed to seeing Ike Diogu getting a bit more playing time the next few games.
