crazy idea.. but what about kaman for camby...
Now I know there will be some grumbling about how we actually already had him. But doesn't camby work better with the rest of our team, given he's like an older wiser version of deandre, and we have enough scorers it seems?
THey make about the same salary and I think their deals actaully end at the same time.... probably would help both teams too.
Maybe we could even get the blazers to throw something else in, since well a scoring center probably is something they could use

Not worth it
DJ basically does what Camby did for us, we need a SF much more then another center.

how would he be a better fit?
He would still be coming off the bench behind DJ.
Except Camby won’t be able to score as well as Kaman. Kaman can score.
I seriously don’t know why everyone is undervaluing Kaman so much.
It’s like one target to the next…oh we can’t blame Baron and trade him anymore…so lets look to trade Kaman.
Sorry…nothing personal…just venting.

btw I'm guilty of this mentality too.

Well, I hadn't thought of that
Points for creativity. But if we’re going to trade Kaman, then we can do better, esp in terms of roster needs. A ‘better fit’ center isn’t high on the priority list.

why not just for a high draft pick?
since our FOs are good at draft and our coaches are good at developing young players, and watching young players grow just so fulfilling to all.
I have been thinking about this for the past couple weeks...
Toronto has their Trade Exception for Chris Bosh. Would they give up their 1st Round Pick for Kaman? They had some success when they had two 7-footers (Bosh and Bargnani), so maybe? Bargnani is a decent 3 point shooter, so that might open things in the paint for Kaman.

Then, maybe Aminu + Minny’s Pick + Toronto’s Pick would be enough to get Melo? Either way, the trade exception and pick would come in handy. We could use the trade exception and pick to get guys like…

Wow, that's crafty
I’m not as keen on a trade as you are, but that’s some good leverage and flexibility.

id rather see how kaman fits alongside these 2
never bad to have a legit 3 big rotation
+1
i think it’s just fans being restless. there’s no sense in trading him for camby. he might provide the scoring punch we need to take pressure off of BG or provide scoring off the bench. let’s see how he meshes with the current team before we make a trade for bad value.

Do Nothing Strategy
Honestly, Kaman has grown into an offensive talent, but his downside is that he is injury prone. But to be honest, I believe we have a perfect balance at the center position.
Split the minutes between DJ and Kaman to prevent any injuries, Kaman will give us a scoring boost, and DJ will come in to anchor the defense.
In my opinion, keep the current roster together and use the current cap space to give the rookies better contracts for when they come off their rookie contracts in a few years.
Kaman will be a great fit on this team
Kaman as the 3rd option on offense is exactly what this team needs to keep defenses from keying in on Griffin. With Baron focusing on assists and Gomes a spot-up shooter, Kaman rounds out an impressive lineup. And he may be more effective playing few minutes as well. With Kaman and DJ both active, the Clippers will be one of the few teams who can keep a good center on the court at all times. His injuries are beyond frustrating, but that’s because he’s a good player needed on the court.
