I thought the team looked pretty good against Ecuador… they generated the better chances through most of the game, and only a pretty terrible job of marking by Ream (who wouldn’t even have been in there if this were anything other than a friendly) kept them from a nil-nil tie against a good side.
The fact that they haven’t been able to score a bit under Klinsmann is certainly a concern, but the bottom line is that the US has never had great finishers – and without Landon Donovan right now, they are even less likely to find the net. It’s still early in the Klinsmann era; there’s a chance they’ll figure it out.

i watched the tail end of that game
and noticed the continued lack of offense by this team. Defense is their strong suit right now…
I am happy to say that El Salvador, my country of origin, also beat (4-0) the Cayman Islands to stand atop their qualifying group!
