espn just finished their top 16-11 list

and Blake Griffin wasn’t listed, meaning that Blake Griffin will be in their top 10 players in the league.

I Love Blake's Game and Upside

However that ESPN list is based upon

1. PER
2. How many times a player winds up in ESPN’s NBA highlights
3. Overall national media exposure

I am glad he made the top ten. Now if only the Clippers next season could finish as high as Blake will in this poll then we may be on to something good.

Doesn't Surpise Me

Given my belief that the only thing has prevented a deal up until now has been the Superstars insisting they continue to get the $100 million plus guaranteed contracts and to hell with the average and marginal player.

Their are several reasons I am saying this.

1. Kobe, Pierce and Garnott were doing the negotiating for the NBPA on the luxury tax and contract length issues.

2. Increasing the penalty for going over the luxury tax line will mean that teams will offer less for the superstars

3. Reducing the length of the contracts helps the upcoming players but hurts the older Superstars who are around 30 because they won’t be able to get as long a guaranteed contract. So if you shorten the max life on a contract you could be knocking off $25 or more million from a Superstars career earnings

That is my understanding of what is happening.

yes

i am under the belief that, since 90% of NBA players will be truly affected by a lack of a paycheck, a lockout into November will be very different in makeup than it is now.

At least thats what i tell myself.

Melo Also Feeling It For The Fans

All these players feeling it for the fans. I am gonna be cheering for them when games start.

Carmelo Anthony: “I just wanna apologize to all the fans for this lockout. Trust me, I feel y’all pain. This [expletive] sucks.”
