Enough of them are stupid enough with their money to need these first few paychecks.

I'm not exactly sure how you came up with that headline after you read this article...
Not that I don’t agree, but I think the most interesting point made in the article is the dull, lemming-like actions of the average sports fan (I am one). We already know the players will lose in the end, right?
In a tangential note, there was a startling (to me, anyway) factoid Ken Berger brought out the other day. If the players see their reduction of the BRI go from 57% to 50% it won’t mean paychecks are reduced by seven percent, it will mean they’re reduced by twelve percent. It’s simple math of course, but that’s a heavy cut.
