Agent: Teams Demand No Super Agents
I think an agent should add value if he wants to exist. An agent can add value to a max level player by chasing on his behalf outside of his NBA salary, but he has little reason to work hard on behalf of his mid-level or lower players. He will get paid almost the same no matter what happens.
Hmm, that sounds like the current lockout situation. Well, silly me to question the integrity of the agents in these proceedings.

Well good luck with that
What sort of agent would advise his client to artificially restrict his market by over 50%?
That flood of free agents flowing to the Bobcats is going to dry up? Oh noes!
You really think that agent is going to do anything he's threatening?
This is an emotional statement made anonymously, so there’s really no damage done. When the money comes around, the player is going to tell his agent to get him paid.

Someone will do it
It will happen. It won’t be common, but it will happen.
Right - the overpay rule already existed regarding the Clips - these guys are just joining the club ;-)
