I can’t fully put into words the disgust and just ‘blah’ feeling I have towards anything related to the nba…and I am a hard core fan!  I am assuming the casual (read Lakers fan) has been lost and if a season does start, they won’t tune in to a shortened season nor finals…unless the lakers are in it…

I still am coming here for the comaraderie shared with the other Citizens.

My thoughts and sympathy for the 99% workers and small business people affected by the latest actions of the other .001% players and owners who are more concerned with who has the biggest Johnson.

Biggest Johnson in NBA history

According to basketballreference.com, the biggest Johnson in the history of the NBA was Ervin Johnson (the other Ervin Johnson) at 6’11, 245.

That's quite a Johnson.

at least there was only one

Wang Zhizhi, but you’d be hard pressed to find one bigger than that.

Kudos The Clippers Organization For Working With Kids and The Importance of Good Health

Pizza is one the healthier foods when served properly. The problem is putting the wrong toppings on them, using the wrong dough and eating it in excess.

See here Is Pizza Healthy?

Thin crust pizza with the proper type of cheese and without being loaded with stuff like pepperoni etc but rather vegetables can be very tasty and healthy.

As far as schools offering only certain foods that they consider healthy that is fine but to prevent children from bringing in their own food borders on Chinese Communism where the state dictates how to raise your children. For those that love the China Communist model they will love what some schools are trying to do. I for one think schools should allow kids to bring whatever food they want to school. It is their body and they are entitled to control over their bodies.

As far as exercise goes. My experience has been that it is good but then Satchel Paige didn’t think so and he was born in 1908 when life expectancy was 50 yet he lived to to be 76 less one month about 50% than the life expectancy of males born when he was.

He was vigorously opposed to exercise. “I believe in training,” he joked, “by rising up and down gently from the bench.” Paige’s rules for successful living were: 1-Avoid fried meats which angry up the blood. 2-If your stomach disputes you, lie down and pacify it with cool thoughts. 3-Keep your juices flowing by jangling around gently as you move. 4-Go very gently on the vices such as carrying on in society – the social ramble ain’t restful. 5-Avoid running at all times. 6-Don’t look back, something might be gaining on you

I'm still out here and reading the hardcore posters regularly

Really gutted about the season. I don’t get college hoops or anything over here so am stuck in a no basketball limbo (I’m not watching European stuff!!). Worse thing for me is that we’ve finally got an improving team with two headline guys on it and that is being ripped away from us.

Everyone has their opinion and whilst they are both to blame, I’m more on the players side myself. To come down from 57% to 50% showed their consessions and I think the owners should have done more to make this happen but it appears they didn’t want too. They think their position is too strong. Only time will tell.

All I know is that the sport is going to lose some casual fans who will spend their time and money on other pastimes (or just saving it in this poor economic climate) and some of those fans (not all, but some), won’t come back.

Hell, I’m been a Clipper fan for 11 years now but if the season is lost, living over here and not having local access like a lot of you guys, I’m not sure I’ll come back.

By the way, big props to this community who has continued to post informative articles throughout this whole escapade, it’s still my number one b’ball link I visit each day.

You'll be back after a few thunderous

rousing, BG dunks.

I won’t feel the same either, but I’ll still go back to the games.

by eastie Rich on Nov 17, 2011 3:36 PM PST up reply actions

That's the thing for me,

if I was in LA and went to the games and had all the local sports news etc, I’d definately go back even though I’d feel pissed about the whole situation.

Living abroad in the UK though, I can’t watch live games unless I stay up in the middle of the night so I watch games on replay but it takes a lot of time following the Clips as I try to watch at least 50 of the 82 games a year via NBA International League Pass.

If there is no season though and we go without basketball from April 11 (no playoffs obviously as a Clips fan) to Oct 12, that’s 18 months without the game. That’s a long time to get used to life without basketball.

Gotta admit, if it takes that long to get them playing again, the only reason I’d come back is to watch Griffin. We’ve waiting so long for a player like that and then lost 2 of his first 3 seasons – the CURSE!!!!!!

Bingo! Oh me oh my!

Whenever ClippersUK comes state side – to watch a clippers game obviously – we will have to have CN party in his honor!….
