Do we want this guy after he said this
Billups hoping he doesnt get claimed. Wants to go to the Heat.
According to Woj
Chauncey Billups warns teams against claiming him off amnesty wire, wants freedom: "This is about me now."
According to Pincus
So Clippers want to invite Billups into their situation? Even if he adamantly wants to go elsewhere? Interesting dilemma
Billups: "People take my kindness and professionalism for weakness. They think I’ll be OK with (getting claimed). I won’t be OK with this."
I say we leave it alone. Doesnt sound good for chemistry. Although before i heard this i was thinking he would be a great signing

I don't care
If we claim him and he wants to retire instead of playing with Blake, let him retire. Doesn’t cost us anything, but it would cost him $14MM.
Proudly enduring the pain since the days of Bill Walton's foot.

the brother just voted to approve the new CBA and these is the rules.
I like saying Chauncey. Chauncey. Chauncey. Chauncey
I let him go
I think he would retire rather than play for a rebuilding team. No reason to create a bunch of drama for a one year rental.

the guy is obviously mad because he's been dumped by everyone
he’s been a professional wherever he’s gone and put up good numbers. I would imagine he’s probably looking for a place to get revenge. Clippers would be a perfect team because we are the outcasts, but I think he probably wants instant satisfaction. Maybe we can sell him on our ability to win this year.

I'll pass, thanks...

Just to mess with him...
Tell him that we’re gonna sign him and then the next day tell him we have no interest in him……
we’re cheap, like to drink and are pissed off.
I actually feel bad for the guy
From 97-98, he was drafted by BOS, traded to Toronto for Kenny Thomas
98-00 DEN, who then trades him to the Magic
00-02 signed by MIN
02-09 signed w/ DET
09-10 traded to DEN for Allen Iverson
This is from Chauncey, Jan 8, 2011:
“This is genuinely home for me. I am in the downside, as far as my career is concerned. I know when my career is over I want to live in Denver.”
He loved coming back to his hometown in Denver, then gets traded to the Knicks to match salaries, and now gets waived after one year for freaking Tyson Chandler.

Neil could just call him and ask if he wants to play here.
I think he has an inflated sense of self worth but he could be really valuable if he wanted to play here.
Stars behaving badly
I’m not sure what there is to be done about it, but the NBA has a problem on their hands with all these players dictating what they will and won’t do. At some level, this is their job, and they need to perform the job within the constraints of the established rules. Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul and now Chauncey Billups saying essentially “I’ll be a cancer anywhere other than where I want to play” is a big issue. Again – not sure how you fix it. But I wonder if there will be a backlash from fans towards these players behaving in such an entitled manner.

I am probably in the minority on this one
but I think we need to give Chauncy an “pass” on his immediate emotional outburst. The other divas, not so much. I remember how upset he was thinking he would end his career in Denver but was an after thought in the Melo deal. Now he is cast aside to make the numbers work for Chandler.
I am well aware that this is business but I also know he has two young girls that will be uprooted again. Maybe he should just take his millions and move back to Denver and retire. I think he has been a great ambassador to the sport and just had his feeling hurt.
