Olshey
Elgin Baylor, Dunleavy, then we get the guy leftover so Sterling didnt have to pay anyone else. Througout this whole thing I restarted my twitter account to keep up and checked ClipsNation blog about a million times. I kept saying that we dont need to give in... I would be happy as long as we didnt trade EJ. We already got a championship type PG in Billups, we increased our leverage. No way we give up both EJ and the Minny pick. So my first reaction when I saw we traded for Chris Paul- joy and excitement. When i saw we traded EJ: still joy and excitement.
Im sure Olshey didnt want to trade EJ, but this was our chance. So then I read this on twitter
Players union could've used LAC GM Neal Olshey negotiating for them. Who else can say they made the commissioner blink?
And i really thought about it. Olshey is a really good GM. Turns out the Lakers were working on a 4 team trade that wouldve landed them Chris Paul today, according to reports (what i heard on 710). How pissed off would we be if the Lakers got him after all of this. So Olshey could've held out and insisted on keeping EJ. But star-power is key in this league. Keeping Griffin in key. Olshey made it happen unlike any previous Clippers GM. We now have 2 studs to work with and incredible starting lineup of CP3/Billups/Butler/Griffin/DJ. I think he did an excellent job, all things considered. And when we win it all this year, Olshey should get executive of the year. :)

hadn't heard about a Laker 4 team trade
would be interested to know the proposal. But that changes everything.
Didnt give details
But they did say the Lakers were not used to drive up the offer from the Clippers, but they were serious and they were working hard to get other teams involved to make a trade for CP3. They claimed that they were close to pulling it off. It was Stephen A Smith show
How crazy would it have been...
….if the TWolves were involved and got Gasol to pair with Rubio. I know others on this board have suggested this very outcome. That would been the double-wammy likely taking a big blow to the unprotected Minny pick.
Now
Ill be cheering for the Wolves instead of against them. Hoping it doesn’t turn out to be a top 3 pick. It’s always a gamble trading picks

I’m not.. I feel bad for Hornet fans. Let them have a good pick and maybe they will get their Griffin to turn around the franchise.
They had one (a Griffin that is)
and they just traded him to us.
Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

I was certainly nervous
about the pick for ourselves. Adding Rubio, Williams, and most importantly Adelman scared the heck out of me. I really like Love, so I wanted to be able to root for the Timberwolves. I’m just glad I don’t have to worry about it, it’s a load of my mind. Now if it ends up a late pick, I will feel darn relieved the Clips didn’t hold on to that for like 5 years, and have it turn into nothing.
what if whoever was right about the Bledsoe thing.
That Eric Bledsoe was the dealbreaker here

Yup
CP3 was gonna’ move. If not the Lakers, it would have been somewhere else. No one team had the assets that the Clippers had, but given enough time, some GM would have come up with a multi-team deal that would have worked for the Hornets. So the notion that the Clippers could just wait it out and eventually get their way is nonsense.
This was the most daring player move in the history of this franchise. Sure, it could all fall apart… no one has a crystal ball during these negotiations. But this is the type of risk that winning franchises take. No, I don’t expect the Clips to win it all this season. But as of today, it’s not completely out of the realm of the possible.
