So negative...Post here if your excited about CP3!
I loved Eric Gordon. I thought he would have been a great person to build around. Then I thought he would complement BG nicely. So naturally, I am sad if he leaves the team. No matter who comes in. Even if it was King James for Gordon, straight up, I would be somewhat sad to see him leave.
However, lets be realistic. Chris Paul is a whole different level from him. Eric Gordon has great D and a beautiful shot. He also started really taking it to the hoop and creating plays for himself. To many post here are trying to find faults with Paul. Also to many "sports writers" are talking about how Clippers lost on the deal(we all know about the one donkey who thinks they won't even make the playoffs).
CP3 creates plays for everyone on the floor. He averages nearly 2 steals a game. This is a move to make the Clippers better, long term. If we can somehow, keep Paul happy and sign him to an extension next year. We can start to get those cheap role players that will take pay cuts to play for us. Teams like the Lakers and now the Heat stay relevant because older, role players, will take a little less money to play for them. We no longer have pay more than the next team to get a player to come here. As long as something ridiculous doesn't happen, I am already excited for the summer of 2012 and how the team can improve further. Of course we won't have Billups anymore and we might make a first round exit in the playoffs at the worst. YET, other than just trying to hit the jackpot in the draft, we will have options for the next couple years. I'm practically drooling at the chance someone might one day demand a trade to the Clippers.
Clippers were all ESPN could talk about tonight. D Sterling will love the added attention and open the purse strings a little more.
This trade is ushering a new era for us. Since I started religiously following the clippers in the early 2000's, the most famous clippers I can think of are Elton Brand, Darius Miles, Sam Cassel, etc. Never have we had a Chris Paul and a Blake Griffin. If you build it...they will come.

What Im excited about
is Donald Sterling will finally realize he can make triple the money if he invest in his team. No more pinching pennies DTS! Remember your bucket list!
he's paid for the last decade
he’s given contracts to BDiddy, Elton, Maggette, Kaman, Cassell..he’s opened the wallet, just didn’t have the long term success. This is the beginning of the new era of success in Clipperland.

I'm excited
I have a live in person fantasy basketball draft on Friday. If he’s on the board I’m getting CP3 and not looking back!
Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.
The news is actually quite depressing
considering how Clippers management hinted to EJ that they weren’t going to trade him. Kind of makes me feel like EJ got "BRAND"ed. We didn’t like the feeling, why do it to EJ?

Because this is a business
Clips have to make the moves that will win them the most games.

What FElton did was just business too
And we were still pretty pissed about it. It’s a two way street, so I think JackduhSun has a point. We were victimized before, and now we’ve victimized EJ.

EJ is crying all the way to the bank
He’s getting paid ridiculous sums of money and should be happy to have the opportunity. In the end, the NBA is a business and EJ new what he signed up for. Don’t feel bad for someone who is getting paid millions to play basketball.
On that note, EJ will definitely be missed and will always be a Clipper favorite; however, once we see a few games with this squad, I’m sure everyone will forget about it.
I'll miss EJ
but it doesn’t dampen my enthusiasm for this trade. This is THE moment in LAC history. This trumps the playoff seasons IMO and ties the Blake draft pick. I’m so happy! So f’n happy!!
