He's the best PG in the NBA, a TOP 5 PLAYER in the NBA, and ranked among the best of the best that has ever played this game. People say he's injury prone, but he played 80 games last season. On top of that, he's Chris Freaking Paul. I just feel like most people are terribly terribly underestimating his game and his abilities. Let me be the first to say that I LOVED having EJ on this team, but you have to give up something to gain something in this league. We didn't even give up our best player to get Chris Paul which is a feat on it's own.
Here's Chris Paul destoying the Lakers with 33 points in Game 1 last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVosM5foJxs
Here's Mr. Paul scoring 35 on the Spurs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqtprNCcGNU&feature=related
A Chris Paul top 10 thingy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TicBLoCLT5g (which shows his handles)
And yeah, I found those in about 30 seconds on Youtube. I'm going to miss Eric Gordon with all my heart as he will always be my favorite Clipper, but we have to remember that the NBA is a business as much as it is a game. I'm going to be watching every New Orleans game that I can to see him and Kaman beast it up... but the Clippers had an opportunity to get the best PG in the league, and you can't pass that up.
I can't wait for this season to start; and as Sir Perrin said earlier, "Welcome to the new era."
