Anybody else worried....

Anyone else worried that Olshey really has nothing up his sleeve concerning a backup big? There is little to no news on the Clippers looking or talking with ANY big man. Also, it's not like there are many centers to sign anymore... well, at least for the 2.5 we have. I felt Troy Murphy would have been a great pick up, but alas, he is with the Lakers. I thought he might be looking to trade Williams, but honestly, I think we need him as a 6th man to control the game. Possibly a trade for Foye? What do you think is happening?

I hope we sign another big, even if they are just that

I dont care if they are skilled, though that is preferable- we need a big guy who can go in for 10-15 minutes, play a little D, grab some rebounds, and give DJ and Blake a breather.

I agree. The season is about to begin, sign someone or trade for someone cheaply..

There are other teams with bigs that buried in their benches that we could utilize. Even sign Diogu if you must. We don’t need a lot from a back up big man like you said. Just play some D, grab some rebounds, and hustle.

Def need an inside guy

Right now our only backup bigs are rookie Thompkins (who i hear is a jump shooter) and Cookie, a guy who lives at the 3pt line. Need a banger in there.

The questions are kind of weird

It’s really in what order should he do the things on the poll

1) Offer lowball offers to Humphries and Dalembert (can’t hurt)
2) Make a trade using Foye, Bledsoe and Mo available
3) Sign random C (or resign Diogu)
4) Do nothing (terrible idea, they have to sign someone big to backup up BG and DJ, seriously anyone)

If most of us can see that we need a backup big, I'm sure Olshey can see that too.

No worries for Mister Hollywood.

the Chris Paul effect

Hubbard will end up starting over Blake or DJ by the end of the season, thanks to CP3

Was it to a guaranteed contract?

He didn’t really distinguish himself in the D-League

That said the guy would pass the eye test, from afar he looked like a NBA player physically which is something a guy like Rhino would never pass.

from afar and up close...he looks pretty thin for a big

looks atheletic, looks like he can block shots, looks like Hasheem Thabeet……

i’d rather have a big that takes up space (like Rhino)…we have enough lanky bigs in Thompkins/Cook…we need a banger

Considering we need a backup C/PF

Erick Dampier seems the logical choice: He won’t expect to start over DJ and he will also bring lots of veteran leadership to the 2nd unit.

He would

assuming he kept himself in shape. It says volumes that the Heat after losing Magloire, Big Z retiring aren’t bringing him back though for the minimum. Still he can’t be worse than Collins right?
