John Ireland claims Dwight Howard to be traded to the Nets tomorrow. Funny or ridiculous?
So today, I was driving to the Valley and had the Mason and Ireland Show on 710 AM. John Ireland said that according to a reliable source of his (the same source who apparently predicted that the Big 3 would play for Miami), Dwight Howard will be playing for the Nets and the trade is set to go down tomorrow Tuesday, December 20.
Assuming this truly happens, Lakers will once again claim that the League is against them

The Nets are the more likely destination than the Lakers
Lakers fans grossly overvalue Andrew Bynum. I don’t think GMs are dying to trade their stars for Bynum like Lakers fans suggest. He is oft injured and immature. His work ethic is lacking.
The Nets package is much better than anything the Lakers can offer.
Do not worry. (Matthew 6:27)
It is just me but Andrew has never, ever impressed me. I agree that Laker fans overvalue him way too much. If I were the GM of the Orlando Magic or any other team, I would hesitate in taking Andrew because of his attitude and health.

the LOL(land of lakers, where analysis is laughable) guy
said that Bynum was the #2 C in the league, close behind Dwight
It could be true
with a giant asterisk next to Bynum to denote when healthy.
Who’s 2nd best now, Gortat, Chandler, Horford, Nene? There’s a big drop from Howard to anyone else is the clear answer.

Horford
I’ll take Horford, then Chandler,Gasol, Kaman when healthy, Noah. I believe Nene is going to be used as a PF but i could be wrong .
Birdman
It’s possible Nene plays PF this year with Kmart gone. They will use the 2 interchangeably at C most likely.

If I were the Lakers
I’d work out a trade similar to what the Hornets were getting for Gasol from the Rockets. You add Scola, Martin and a 1st round pick. Then you see if Bynum, Martin and the 2 first round picks (one from Rockets, one from Mavs… maybe add their own) to the Magic for Howard is enough.
SG – Kobe
PG – Fisher
C – Howard
PF – Scola
SF – Barnes
Bench – Blake, Artest, McRoberts, Murphy
For the Magic they add a great scorer in Martin (who has a good contract and is just 27-28), a young Center and a few draft picks. Win win. Course the Rockets missed out on Nene because they didn’t have the cap space so I’m guessing they would pull their offer now.

It would have to be a 3 team deal or Martin would not be able to be packaged in a deal.
Also, if I’m Orlando, there’s no way I’m trading Howard without dumping Turkoglu on the other team.

I'm just impressed with the size of Howards shoulders.......
I hope he goes to New Jersey (I have a big soft spot for them).
i hope he goes to
the clippers
wait did i just say that out loud, sorry.
He'd have to take a huge paycut (even after getting rid of everyone not named BG, CP3, DJ or Butler) or...
Orlando would have to agree to a S&T involving Dwight for DJ.
Personally, I’d love for him to end up on the Nets. Anything that keeps him in the east and off of the Lakers is a positive for us.

yea, i assumed it would come to
a trade centered around DJ around the deadline.
I'm not sure we'd have enough assets to get him during the season.
If we wait until the offseason, Orlando may end up taking anything that they can get. We could potentially give them DJ, future picks and a TPE.

Ireland is so dumb
I cannot stand that guy at all. Something about him irritates the daylights out of me. No matter what the Lakers do, they remain the best, and they are not flawed. I hate how he still bashes the Clippers even f this go down, never gives them credit.
typical lakers fan though….thinks he is, ain’t worth anything in my book other than a bandwagon fan
Not today
They are all pretty much eating hay today and praising the Clippers including the 3 biggest critics Ireland, Mason and Michael Thompson. Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley (especially Wiley) were 100% aboard the Clipper train. The one ESPN personality not on board is Skip Bayless who said on TV he would much rather watch the Lakers and the Clippers just play “And1” ball.
"Who wants a free Sharpie?"
Wow... Skip Bayless being a bitter contrarian?
I’m SO shocked.
