I'm getting sick and tired of all the sports reporters saying that Stern screwed the Lakers by turning down the Chris Paul trade. Stern in my opinion has overstepped his authority on many occasions, but this is definitely not one of them. That trade which would have landed the Hornets Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic. is not nearly as favorable to the Hornets as the trade with the Clippers that was ultimately accepted by Stern, acting as a sort of proxy general manager/owner for New Orleans. The talent, athleticism, and youth that the Hornets received is going to serve them much better now and in the future. Why is it that everyone thinks that the league should automatically want to improve the Lakers? Remember Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol? That was a deal that many(other than Laker fans) thought should have been disallowed. So stop complaining everyone!
