Donald Sterling Appreciation Thread
Hi Guys,
I have been a Clipper fan for over 20 years now and very excited of our team and the upcoming season.
We now have all the pieces to not only be very good team today but potentially one of the best over the next few years.
I think we should give some props to the Donald as he really helped put together a soon to be contender.
Going after Chris Paul IMO will be viewed as one of the best Clipper trades of all time as he is a legitimate top 3-5 player in the league. And to compliment Paul and Blake, we got a proven leader in Billups and even resigned Deandre Jordan.
Thanks Donald! Looking forward to the amazing future ahead!!!!

Ok i'll get started
I will only comment on the Basketball side of his ownership, and only the positves:
I think most fans are thankful he moved team from San Diego to LA.
He paid Baron and Kaman a lot of money. He then heckled Baron….which was warranted, but not “normal” behavior. He also called Al Thornton “the most selfish player I had ever seen”, which was also odd, but not Al played better after that. He foot the bill for the Playa Vista practice facility.
According to the David Alridge article about how the CP3 trade went down, it seems he pushed Neil to keep going with the trade even after it was rejected the first time. He once told CP3 “You belong in Hollywood” per Lisa Dillman.
Perhaps if he had fired Elgin Baylor earlier, the CLips would have a better repuation. MDSr and Neil have done Okay as GM.

benoitcagewoodson = Donald Sterliing??
he keeps the LA Times running with his crappy ads. I’m out of props after that.
I'll wait
until next summer and seeing DTS using the MLE to sign more complementary players (and maybe resigning Billups) around BG and CP3 before we pardon DTS for all his past transgressions.
Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.
DTS has been bashed enough around here and elsewhere.
Basketball wise, he hasn’t really done anything obvious to hurt the team since he hired MD has a coach. He deserves some of the credit for the teams’ recent turnaround. His hiring of MD and signing on to MD’s vision was partly responsible for the Clips’ run in 2005-2006. Without that run, I doubt we would be on this website right now and Steve Perrin probably would not have even constructed it.
