I'll believe it when I see it
Whew, but four draft picks plus Favors and Harris… Sweet deal for Denver.
I bet that Melo hems and haws with no real intension of signing on, and that Denver quietly knows or suspects this. Meanwhile, the mere threat will probably pry more out of the Knicks. So Melo and the Nuggets are in cahoots, and NJ is getting played. So I suspect.

They will use up one of those picks
to move Murphy. The 2 future Nets picks should probably be out of the lottery. But Favors is a good prospect and the Nets pick this year will be pretty high.

With the amount of players involved, why not just swap franchises. New Jersey Nuggets and the Denver Nets… I guess the same could be said of the Timberwolves and Clippers.
New Jersey is going to really regret those 4 draft picks especially when they continue to suck.
Jesus not just 4 picks, 4 FIRST round picks
that’s nuts, I don’t care how good Melo is. Shit, if I were the Nets I’d rather play the lottery and fall into a franchise player because giving all those pieces away for Melo and some scraps isn’t going to do the Nets any good.
Denver must be out of their mind. Though anyone who makes that trade with them is even crazier.

One of those picks
is the Utah pick. It might be a late lottery pick or a pick in the late teens. The 2 future picks might not be that valuable if the Nets are a playoff team. Favors and this year picks is the real value.

Well they do get Billups as well
It makes the Nets a future playoff team for sure if the top heavy East but the Nuggets still have the better roster for now.

Just another deal Olshey couldn't get done I guess
Not that I wanted it done, but I was told to wait and see.
Now I see.
But I thought Melo was "garbage" to you . . .
So you’re saying you changed your mind and now want him all of a sudden?

not sure John's comment had anything to do with melo.

He knows
He tried to use getting Melo as an excuse for Olshey’s failure to date.

Actually I don't think he's failed
Jury is out. Doesn’t need an excuse. It hasn’t been very long much less 7 years.
But ypure ripping him for not getting a player you detest even though the price he would have to pay is ludicrous. Clearly you irrationally hate Olahey.

John,
What would you have done?
NJ has offerend a solid PG, a lottery player with real potential, and four first round picks. The only way Olshey could top that is with BG and our minny pick. Its just not worth it, and Olshey is smart enough to know that.
Now I will say that he better be working on something. Hangin tough with gomes and foye because you want to prove you made good GM moves is not going to fly either. Olshey needs to recognize the failure in these moves (not necessarily bc he thought they’d be world beaters, but bc they just haven’t panned out). We can now move one or both of them and try again.

Any semblance of your facade of rational thought
has just come tumbling down. Dinging the guy for not making a trade you would have ridiculed if he had made it is exactly the kind of double-speak of which you routinely accuse others. Clearly taking a shot at Jax trumps consistency of logic in your worldview.
Proudly enduring the pain since the days of Bill Walton's foot.
I'm happy that the clippers didn't make the trade
seeing how much the Nuggets were/are looking to get. I like Melo but he isn’t worth gutting our team for.
