From Chris Broussard:
Al Thornton has a destination set up, just hoping to clear waivers. He was waived by mutual agreement in Washington

No, I'm not interested
The feeling’s probably mutual.

Hahaha
I was thinking the same thing when I read that. But to be fair, Al has the potential to be pretty darn good if he can stop doing certain things and start doing others. His offensive rebounding and ability to score on the break is fantastic, but his defensive rebounding and jump shot are just terrible. It would appear he’s a perfect fit for Golden State’s fast breaks and bad rebounding, just like Zbo was a perfect fit for the half-court sets and invisible defense in Memphis. If Al suddenly blows up in GSW, I’m just going to blame the system, not the “home run.”

If only MDSr managed the rotation better

Invisible defense?
Per Basketball Reference Memphis has a defensive rating of 104.8 good for 9th in the NBA.
Anything to shit on Zbo though I guess.

Well shit.
My bad on that one, I shouldn’t have commented without doing the legwork. I was going by my memory of last year, when I actually watched them play (which looks like it was 19th, so not quite invisible, but not really helping them win games). Damn, they stepped it up this year. Is Tony Allen really the difference maker? Everyone was talking about he was overrated as a defensive stopped just because he was in the finals guarding Kobe. Haven’t watched him play at all, other than not being able to shoot a jumper to save his life.

He was guarding Kobe
Kobe is going to get his I love Tony Allen’s game a rough scrapper with strong intense personality Clippers need to stock pile on these type of players. Z-bo was no that bad on defense for us he had problems when he was pulled out to the perimeter but inside he used his length inside to get some stops.
No worries. My last comment to you wasn’t fair.
The only reason I caught that was because there have been like 2 or 3 articles recently stating how good of a defensive team Memphis has been.

Erik - just remember - do not criticize ZBo

haha
yeah, when he said home runs the past four years, i started counting backwards and got stumped when i got to thornton. i guess it could have been worse… i wanted acie law that draft.
Well he hasn't been in the habit of being honest over the last couple of weeks
So its in character.
yep supposed to be the warriors
I guess he gets to replace corey magettee a second time ;)
I wouldn’t mind him back here, but definitely not the answer as the starter at SF.
Clippers are missing big
Derrick Brown just went to the knicks he would of been a great pick up long term. There are some strong role players who are getting waived that would be a huge upgrade on our bench.
Here's to hoping Phoenix waives Childress.
The guy has shot 100% for the last month! Of course he’s only taken 3 shots and played like 12 minutes or something. If they are dumb enough to waive him, we’d better be smart enough to sign him.

I think its unlikely
They might try to unload him in the offseason
We are the Clippers! What else is new?
either that
or they let Hill and Carter leave and hope Pietrus opts out (unlikely). Then they have a sudden need for wings.

Good luck Al
hope you hit tons of long range two’s up in the Bay.
I actually like Al a lot. I think he would have been a bigger factor than Aminu or Gomes this season
Blake Griffin is coming, hide your MBengas
Perfect fit...
Not much D needed to play at GSW…

Small Tidbit about the situation
If Thornton does go to the Warriors, the Clippers won’t have played against him this whole season. (2-2 against the Warriors and 0-0 against the Wizards this season).
if he signs with the Clippers, he wont play against them either...
happened for the beginning of his career
Baron Davis, "OHH YEAAH!"
4 years, and not one game against the Clips
New record? Wait… I think Kaman’s done better!

Which is unfortunate
All NBA players want to play against the Clippers to pad their stats.
Do not worry. (Matthew 6:27)
yep
He might even get three years and twelve million from the Clips.

I guess the Warriors were in the market for pull-up 19-foot bricks early in the shot clock.
