this article has always been pretty depressing

not because simmons is bashing the clips irrationality. but because of how much truth this sheds on awful clipper management.

yeah, i dont see the ryan gomes connection.

Thats alot of years of failure to overcome. I think things will not change in the near future.

Not a Nostradumus prediction….but Simmons mentions acquiring Gomes in the timeline and we end up getting him.

this article had me rolling the entire read.I have a feeling that the curse is going to run its course. Blake gives me hope.

I am surprised more people didn’t find the humor in it. This article took me like half hour to read because I couldn’t stop laughing.I have taken to Simmons articles but I guess others haven’t.

I’ve liked and read Simmons for a while. He gets tiresome, but I still can’t help but read eveytyhing he writes. I do find him funny and the article itself funny (that’s his thing) but I don’t like his pretending to be a Clipper fan. Perhaps thats a small quibble, but it annoys me.

Pretty close

September 1979: They trade a 1986 No. 1 pick to Philly for Joe “Jellybean” Bryant (Kobe’s dad), which would be like the Clips trading their unprotected 2016 No. 1 to Minnesota for Ryan Gomes. (Crap, I hope I didn’t just give them an idea.) Oh, and that 1986 pick? It ended up being first overall. This is your new team, Blake.

Instead the Clips traded their unprotected 2011 1st round for cap space because they need it to sign a starting SF because Ryan Gomes was so abysmal during the 2010-2011 season.

I guess for most people it stops being funny when the hyperbole no longer exaggerates.

Like a yo mama joke that hits a little too close to home. If my mom really sat on a dollar bill and 4 quarters came out, I would probably be sad then.
