With Atlanta falling apart, I'm guessing management will be forced to trade one of their big 3 (Horford, Johnson, and Smith) during the offseason to reconstruct the team. Johnson, as we all know, is a second rate star with a ridiculous maximum contract - so he's practically untradeable. Horford, if I'm correct, just signed an extension with Atlanta - so they're probably planning to keep him anyway. Smith seems like he can be pried away with the right trade. I think the Clips might be able to get Smith for Kaman and a future 1st round pick.
Add some pieces here and there, Minny's 1st round pick for Gallinari, sign Oden to play with DJ for examples, and I think the Clips will have a team that should be able to go deep into the playoffs. The team would look like:
PG: M. Williams / E. Bledsoe
SG: E. Gordon / R. Foye
SF: J. Smith / A. Aminu
PF: B. Griffin / D. Gallinari
C: D. Jordan / G. Oden
I know this is another one of those threads... but it's SO FUN to play GM.
