Great, I want the Kings to come to SoCal
I know there are plenty of negative consequences with this move, but I honestly think the positives outweigh any negative consequences! For one, DTS will more than likely feel like his market is being threaten and might just invest more on players! Also, King tickets will be pretty cheap, so Clips fans in SoCal will be able to see a road game locally that is not at Staples!
Man I got them buzzin' buzzin' buzzin' buzzin, Like da-da-da-da-da-da-da -Mann
Call then the Orange County "Cougars"
If you know what I mean. Fits the demographics of Orange County. They can have real hot 40 year old dancers who dance to 80’s and 90’s music during timeouts.
3 teams in SoCal?
Sounds like a big disaster. Why don’t they move to Seattle or Kansas City or Las Vegas at least?
What player would like to play for a place that has 3 teams?
Really the Clippers should have moved to Anaheim a long time ago.
Seattle- no arena
Kansas City- trade one small market for another
Las Vegas- no arena
Players will play in a place with 3 teams because they are drafted there or because they are being offered money to play there.
Don’t agree with Clips moving to Anaheim (my bias though as to where I live.)

OKC showed that a small market can support a good team

makes no sense
part of the reason why the Kings want to move is because they want a new arena
but they move to one that is around 20 years old?
Fine, with me
I will be going to kings games.
Blake Griffin is coming, hide your MBengas
Arena may well be a scapegoat. Or it may have started off as a legitimate consideration, but now they see the dollar signs of filling the void left on FS-West when the Lakers switch over to Lakervision for the next 20 years.

this move has disaster written all over it
Clippers already have a hard enough time competing for fans, another team just 45 minutes away would be a mess.

If I were DTS I'd consider moving to OC immediately
In any event, he’s going to have to spend some more cash if this goes through to keep the fanbase happy. Could be a good thing.

Will he?
this keeping the fan base happy has hardly been his goal the last 25+ years. The Clips will still be very profitable for the next 5 years as long as Griffin and Gordon are around.
Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.
You could be right
We shall see

DTS has never relied on the Clippers fan base
his marketing was always based on “Hey, come see your favorite visiting team/player vs. the Clippers”.
People will always go to Clippers games, especially Knicks/Celtics/Pistons ex-pats.

Apparently
Pistons games are close to 50/50.
My neighbor is from Det. I think people come here from all cold places.

I was just in Detroit- it is indeed cold there (in case you were wondering)

for some reason the move
just seems like a quick fix. Is the Honda Center really that much of an upgrade? When it’s time to upgrade that facility hopefully they’ve already explored their options and they’re more confident they have a better chance of getting a state of the art arena in Anaheim.
i don’t get why they havent considered san jose.
i live inthe bay and that is probably one of the most insane and affluent fan bases in CA.
granted its near the warriors, but they at least only hafve 1 team up here. people go to san jose earthquakes and sharks games and take it insanely seriously (seriously a soccre and a hockey team… there is NOTHING to do in san jose).
and they have a great arena (the hp pavilion). on top of that it is only about 100 miles from sactown so you can claim its still sort of in the same region.
That is very true
Plus there is tons of $$$ in San Jose. I know a rich Silicon Valley guy who has a box for the Sharks.
San Jose would make a ton of sense.

Solid argument
I’ve no retort.

why don't they move to san diego
they could get a pretty good fan base there
