Things are really not as gloomy as you guys are making it out to be.
For one thing, the basic goal for next year is to make the playoffs, and this team really doesnt need any more young players to break into the NBA if they want that to happen. If you have watched the playoffs so far, defense is incredible, and I can only imagine if rookies had to play a major role in them.
Secondly, the T-Wolves probably wont get much better with Williams or one of the Euro bigs, which means that next year's pick will be a high lottery pick probably as well.
Third, if we really want to, I think we could make ourselves a trade for the #2 Minnesota pick. Kahn says he wants veterans, they need a center, and we have just the man: Chris Kaman.
Finally, the future is bright. We have a very exciting young team, with no less than 5 players next year who will each hopefully get better: Blake, Eric Gordon, Deandre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, and Al-Farouq Aminu. Who knows, maybe Bledsoe will end up being better than Irving anyway? I wouldnt actually bet against it.
Proposed deal: Chris Kaman, 2nd round pick, and some other player (Smith, Cook, Diogu) for the #2 pick.
