Being from "europe" (I don't speak European though) this is a bit of pet peeve of mine. The article about the similarities between Vesely and Kirilenko states that "ironically" "The comparisons are many. They are from the same region; Vesely a native of the Czech Republic and Kirilenko of Russia.". That struck me as a bit odd so I checked on Google Earth. It turns out the distance between Kirilenko's and Vesely's hometowns is about 840 miles. Imagine Eric Bledsoe being compared to Stephon Marbury since the grew up in the same area (after all Birmingham, Alabamba is only 860 miles from Booklyn)...
