Ric Bucher and his top NBA player list

While scouring the web for Clippers information and work as well (at least, that's what boss assumes), I came across this ridiculous list compiled by Ric Bucher (yeah the one who does not think Clippers are good enough) of ESPN. Well, according to Bucher, these are the top 7 NBA players right now.

1. Kobe Bryant

2. Derrick Rose

3. Lebron James

4. Dwight Howard

5. Dwyane Wade

6. Dirk Nowitzki

7. Russell Westbrook

Do you notice any big names missing from the list? What is your take?

And Bucher… Well, he can eat a bag of dicks

He put Westbrook on the list and left off Durant?

Seriously? Clipper-centric stuff aside, that alone is enough to immediately invalidate this list.

+1

People on blogs are questioning the same thing about Durant being left off the list.

Totally laughable

I watched an OKC game where Westbrook looked like the 3rd best player after Durant and Harden.
Can’t wait to hear next BS report with Bucher, Simmons will destroy him

Harden will pass Westbrook

He's always been a Kobe suck up...

Nothing’s changed.
The Westbrook thing is just nuts.

Right now Kobe deserves top billing.

The only person that can come close is LeBron.

Look

Westbrook is the only problem with that list. I wouldn’t put a lot of distance between Chris Paul and Blake Griffin and the rest of that group, but at the same time I have no problem with someone who thinks those guys are better than CP3 and BG. But Westbrook? Puh-leeze. That’s just weird. Are we even sure he helps the Thunder? They seemed better with Maynor in the game to me (which is why that injury will hurt them).

neither has cp3

Blake has something like 23 and 10… Good but not exactly mind blowing numbers

by LJ Hann on Jan 13, 2012 1:58 AM PST up reply actions

Agreed

Westbrook is a great talent, but he shoots too frequently (at a low % from deep) and turns the ball over a lot. Those are two large inefficiencies in his game that can make him detrimental at times — often with the way he demands the ball.

I have felt, for awhile now, that he and Durant shouldn’t be on the floor at the same time. Of Westbrook is going to demand the ball, at least don’t have it be at the expense of KD.

In many ways Westbrook is an overplayed Bledsoe.

I’m okay with Blake not being on that list, even though if we going by PER and WS, he has been better that Wade and Westbrook and has a slight edge over Dirk. But Blake hasn’t really proven himself yet, so I’m going to let it slide. I’m somewhat okay with CP3 not being on there, even though (like Blake) his number this year are better than Wade, Westbrook and Dirk. Sometimes advanced statistics can be wrong and maybe those other players are better.

My biggest problem is that Russell Westbrook is on there when he’s not even the best player on their team! Where is Kevin Durant?? Hell, even James Harden is having a better season than Westbrook. Ric Bucher is an idiot. Also, LeBron should be first based on the season he’s having (this from a guy that hates him).

Bucher is a complete idiot.

Kobe at #1? Sorry, despite the complete hard-on that people have for LeBron hatred, he is easily better than Rose AND Kobe. Westbrook doesn’t belong anywhere near that list.

Kobe's not the best player this season

He’s just shooting it more than anyone (at a pretty average 46% clip I add).

Dwight Howard, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Lebron James are off to much better starts.

Help us Altered Beast you're our only hope.

Is it based on players this season or their career?

If it’s this season, well I could replace 5-6 players and state a strong argument for each of them – Durant, Aldridge, Griffin, Love, CP3, Anthony and Bonner just to name a few.

Okay disregard Bonner he probably slips into the 15-20 range

Disagree

Replace Bonner with Steve Novak.
